Before I had friends inside the computer, I thought people who met through the Internet were kind of, you know, weird. Like the creepy lady down the street who hastily swipes her ratty purple curtains closed every time I wave at her. Or the man in the dog park who does not bother to straighten his toupee.

Now I don't know what I'd do without my friends in the computer, some days, particularly those like Mia at Mia Goddess, who is strong and lovely and happens to have a son born the very same day as mine. Mia has done many things for me, including sending Nolan a personalized copy of the Velveteen Rabbit and introducing me to this awesome jewelry made by a Mom of two.

Now I'm a sucker for businesses run by stay-at-home Moms, but I am also a bit of a jewelry person - the artistic stuff, not the diamonds..and this jewelry is truly gorgeous. Cori (the designer and brains behind the Shrunken Cat Heads Etsy store) offers her work at truly reasonable prices - a stunning pair of fused glass earrings goes for $ 14.50 and Cori strives to ship (cheaply!) with recycled materials.

I am bookmarking this for friend's birthdays and perhaps a wee special treat for myself too.
