Exclusive: Michelle Duggar is pregnant!
Filed under: Bump Watch, Celeb Kids, Celeb Parents, That's Entertainment
I recently wrote about a rumor going around online that Michelle Duggar, of the "Duggar Family" fame, is pregnant. For those of you who aren't up to date on the happenings on TLC, the Duggars are a family that lives in Arkansas and has 16 children.
Michelle and her husband Jim Bob have said in the past that they viewed children as a blessing and, as long as Michelle was willing, they would have more.
I sent an email to Jim Bob Duggar, who graciously replied. Michelle is, in fact, pregnant!
"It is true, Michelle is expecting #17 July 27th, 2007," said Jim Bob in an email to Blogging Baby. What wonderful news for this family.
While not everyone may agree with their birth control practices, it is nice to see a family that really welcomes all additions. If you'd like to see more about The Duggar family, you can see some previous Blogging Baby posts here.

The line-reading is so fine.
In 2037, the US will be a minority majority, this is her fix to keep the US a white majority.
God save the Christians, let the serfs rot in hell.
The Duggar family has so many similarities as the FLDS ( Fundalmental Latter DAy Saints(, the Warren Jeffs cult.
I'll bet that the Duggar family receives some kind of government hand-out.
While I am single, I pay for this nonsense.

Mom of Many said...I'm a mom of 13. I'm very happy for the Duggars. I know that they are financially sound to take care of all their children (no government assistance, but even IF they were on it--so what? All those kids will be great future tax payers to support all the elderly SSI and other government services...).
Let's not begrudge them their happiness. It's really none of anybody's business if a couple has 1 or 101 children. Only a few are strong enough to run a large household and give love to so many! It's not for everybody, just like staying single or raising 1 child is not for everybody.
Congratulations to the Duggars!

I look at this family and wish I could have grown up in a house filled with so much love and companionship. The way I see it as long as God and Nature are willing to give them these children who are we, or you for that matter, to judge.
A final note. I am willing to bet that these Duggar children end up with a better education and brighter future than most children in the western world. Heck without a television for a primary carer and so many positie influences and care providers how could they not.
Leave them alone and go improve your own life instead of ridiculing other people.

Those children have no idea what the REAL world outside their little circle is all about. Sad. Very sad, indeed.

It was something that was supposed to be TEMPORARY, and somehow, our system has failed us, and now, ppl think its something thats OWED to them.Thank you FDR for screwing everything up. Do you honestly think OUR taxes would be sooooo bad if we did the Christian thing, and helped everyone out? If we helped our brother get out of the rut they were in, rather HELP them stay there? The government should NOT be involved, but ppl should. Except in the case of disability. Honestly, welfare is a bust, and ssi is too! Its a pyramid scheme, always has been, always will be. And for those of us who will be retiring in 20 years or so, that shoe box is empty. Well, not empty, just a box of IOU's.
In case you didnt figure it out, more than likely, those girls wont get a college education, but continue the cycle of many children.Heck, the boys may not either. So, it IS my business if MY hard earned tax dollars go to paying for someone how chooses to have alot of children, but CAN NOT take care of them themselves. In fact, God tells us to CARE FOR OUR OWN. Not that having children is a crime, but it is a shame if they dont get a college education. These days, you dont get anywhere without a secondary education. The Duggars put out alot of money JUST FOR FOOD. Just one trip to the grocery store yielded over 800 dollars. Wow....try that two to three times a month. I seriously doubt your theory of "they will contribute to society later" is worth the squat if they indeed are living off government assistance. Those of us who are over 40 know for certain, we WONT be able to depend on SSI anyway, cause there wont be any left. So your theory of them contributing to those of us how will retire in the near future, is moot, to say the least.
One word, INVEST.
Okay, stepping off my soap box.
I dont care how many children they have, as long as I AM NOT PAYING FOR IT!!

Without the New Deal and all of the work programs he put in place, the USA would never have gotten out of its depression and developed into the super power that it is today. I am not saying that SSI and other public works systems are corrupt now, that would be psychotic. All I am trying to explain is that you cannot blame FDR for things people did after he died.
All of that said, I do not think that the Duggar house is a very healthy place for young girls to mature and grow into productive citizens, little baby farms, perhaps, but not good citizens.

I know people who earn 180k per annum and are in debt up to there eyeballs.. i know others who earn 40k per annum and live debt free IN APPARENT LUXURY. Its all the little spending that makes you poor.
You Americans should come visit Australia and see how bad our welfare system is for handing out money!!! Also our tax laws are much worse. My hubby and I pay 49 cents in the dollar tax because we are high income earners!!!!That does make me feel ripped off, especially when there is a whole sub culture of welfarism and welfare dependent families that spans generations. But I believe the Duggars when they say they live debt free and are financially independent.
I have friends who got into real estate at the right time and are independently wealthy now at the ripe old age of 29 and 36!!! They only have 3 kiddies as of yet but a very large sum of money in the bank earning interest.
I think people hate on the Duggars because they dont want to accept that something so extraordinary can really be so positive.. It makes there own ordinary struggle seem even more pathetic.
Yes there are people who ride the system and milk it for what its worth. I recall seeing one man pile his 8 children and preganant wife into a small Datsun Sedan. He actually reclined the seats back into the trunk of the car and lay the kids in the back top to tail like sardines!!!! Neither of the adults worked in the family because I struck up a conversation with them out of pure curiosity. However the Duggar falimy are NOTHING like that. All of the children have there needs more than fulfilled. Not like "social insects" (as suggested above) but a loving family of healthy human beings.
I dont see people jumping up and down to ridicule the total dysfunction of so many other American families we witness on cable tv. Maybe it is just the functionality of the Duggars that confuses people. I find them inspirational and a comfort to watch. I feel my spirit become uplifted when i witness the warmth and love that surrounds them.

I also respect many other family's choices to have no children or only one child. If we live in a country where we have the freedom to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness {per our US Constitution}, then we live in a country where those three things are not dictated by someone else's prerogatives or opinions. The pursuit of happiness is not up to someone else's interpretation for me. {Unlike China where there is a mandatory limit on how many children you can have... how sad}.
As long as the Duggars are not abusing their children or breaking any laws in raising them, they are free to have as many as they wish... just as a family with one child is free to have only that one child, so long as they are not abusing him/her.
Everything else is just subject to personal opinion and is not fact.
As for the Duggars, congratulations on your newest addition!

How rude of people to just judge others. You need to judge yourself first.
Other than God being first in your life and families life, what is the foundation to raising children????
A good relationship between the parents.
The parents have a loving, lasting relationship. She is a very submissive wife to her husband. He is a well rounded person, who takes care of his family the right way. He brings in the money to support such a family. They are following God's path for them. I am sure that if they lived like most people who have commented about this, that they would not have allowed God to guide there path.
They are a living example of Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with ALL YOU HEART, and lean NOT on your own UNDERSTANDING, in all your ways aknowlegde him, and he WILL make your paths straight.
You can if you want knock this family down. But they wont be listening to you. They are the example of this verse. They are only listening to God. Not You!
Sorry, it was just upsetting me to see all those comments.

So maybe they should think about the children they already have before they have more. Or maybe the good lord will help them out by making her uterus fall out.

And for the record... The Duggars are a debt free family. Jim Bob and Michelle are financially dependant so those with the "I have to pay for them" remarks need to get their facts straight.
Personally- I am very happy for them! Congrats Michelle and Jim Bob!

They are truly an inspiration on how to run a household and raise happy, healthy children who are an asset to the world in my opinion.
I have 4 children, all close in age as well, and delegating responsibility is not "handing off" or shirking her own, it's smart. It helps things run smoothly so that she has time to be a Mom to all. It helps the family bond and have respect for one another and themselves. It's also realistic, that is how life works. We all have to help one another in all aspects of our lives.
Sincere Congratulations and Best Wishes to the Duggar family! :)

Mary Hofmeister said...Granted, the children are well behaved and the Duggars seem to run a tight ship.
Seems to me, though, the girls are being raised to be little drones who will do little more than get married and have baby after baby, with no opportunity for higher education. These children are not being allowed free thought as there is little outside activity with "outsiders", they are only subjected to the cult-like beliefs of their parents. Seems sad. As for the oldest boy, online college? Is he to be sequestered even as an adult?
As far as Jim Bob Duggar goes, he is making money aplenty from the learning type channel shows for "inside looks" into the family's daily life. While they are smart, competent adults, the whole situation seems a bit sad, at least for the children.

As for all of you saying these children are going to be nothing but baby mills, I'll bet many of them have no children at all... Maybe they will want to only have 1 or 2... and whose business is it at all... I only have 2 children and search for freebies too... Companies give things away all the time... And if TLC is building them a house or something SO WHAT!!! have you ever seen Extreme home makeover, or trading places, or while you were out... people with no kids or few kids get freebies too... If they want a large family so be it... And the older kids helping out is normal too... and quality time does not necessiarly mean one on one time... they may do something few other people do... have FAMILY TIME!!!

The Duggars are a good family who truly care about their children and are doing their best to teach them good values and morals. Plus, they live completely debt free (and, by the way, they were already finacially secure before they started "parading their children around" on TV shows). I think there are a few other reality TV shows where you should be concerned about the children before this one. All of these children seem very happy and completely normal. Why does is seem something should be wrong with them if they enjoy helping their parents and siblings? They are learning to be caring, nuturing people and the more people like that in the world the better.
