Man uses stun gun on 18 month old son

I admit I get frustrated by the absurd chaos of parenting at times. When Nolan flails around, frantically yelling when I'm trying to change his stinky, sweaty diaper, I want to sink two storeys into the frozen tundra. When he runs away willfully or throws my special moisturizer down the toilet, I want to carefully pluck out all of my hairs and lay down on the floor for awhile. But I have never, ever wished physical harm on my son. And I do not understand parents who do.
A 23-year old Oregon man was arrested after he repeatedly shot his 18-month old son with a stun gun. The gun had been used on the toddler on numerous occasions over a 3 week period, until the man's wife called police to report child abuse allegations.
The man was then arrested and the little bou was treated for injuries. I hope the boy is OK, and I hope he can get past this. And I hope that man never has another child again.

Ethel said...I live in Albany, and unfortunately it is not unbelievable it would happen anywhere, let alone here. In my hometown I know of a pedophile who, in order to deny his estranged wife access to their 18 month old he drowned her in her bath while trying to commit suicide. I know of babies that had their feet amputated becuase they were left in their car seat too close to the heater and couldn't get their feet away (parents were too drunk to notice). This seems particularly vicious since it was directed to the child, and I know the baby will have emotional attachment issues the rest of their life. Sigh.
In half an hour I am taking my 2 year old to our "Live and Learn with your 2 year old" course that is through the local community college, it is there to help parents of young children have support and unfortunately the folks who use it are the ones who need it. I wish this dad and mom had been coming with me and my kid, it might have helped.

"The man was then arrested and the little bou was treated for injuries."
Also this happened over a three week period BEFORE his wife called? Why was she waiting so long, in hopes he would STOP! I would have called the first time!
