Toy Recall: Stuffed Fun Balls
Categories: Safety, Toys & Games
Stuffed Fun Balls may be fun, but they are also dangerous. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Regent Products Corporation have announced a voluntary recall of Stuffed Fun Balls. The balls contain lead paint, which is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
The Stuffed Fun Ball is an orange stuffed ball toy, measuring 4 inches in diameter and resembling a basketball. The ball is printed with colored numbers and letters, as well as "Reg. #PA-10623(HK)". About 7,200 of the $1 balls were sold in Dollar Stores and other discount retailers nationwide from June, 2006 through March, 2007.
If you purchased one of these toys, you are advised to immediately take the ball away from your child and return it to the store where it was purchased for a refund.
For more information, contact Regent Products at (800) 940-4869 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. Consumers can also find more information about the recall by visiting Regent's website or emailing the company at recall@regentproducts.com.
