I've always joked that I have a love/hate relationship with the Internet. All it takes are a few rude comments (you know who you are!) to ruin a perfectly good day. I've seen many bad things happen to people, thanks to online activities....but I've also seen good.
Heather over at Especially Heather was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. I remember hearing about Heather awhile ago because her daughter, Emma Grace, was born with a heart defect. As a parent whose children were also at risk of congenital heart disease and had to undergo extensive testing during my pregnancy, I felt so lucky that my children were born with healthy hearts.
Now Heather is dealing with a diagnosis of a brain tumor in addition to the ongoing health issues of her daughter. But, there is a positive. Her friends on the Internet have banded together to help raise money to deal with some of the costs, such as traveling to the Mayo Clinic to see the best doctors in the nation, that Heather and her husband will have to deal with.
There are several amazing women working together to help raise money for Heather and her family. Chris over at Notes From the Trenches has put together a raffle. One of the prizes is note cards...made by me! (I know. Hold your enthusiasm.)
I know that there are many people out there, including some on the 'net, that need help. But, it is nice to see complete strangers working together to help ease the burden during such a hard time for this family.
Here's to hoping and praying that this has a happy ending.

Erin said...the world of brain tumors can be a roller coaster. BUT THERE IS HOPE! Yesterday hubby hit the 8 year mark. and he's doing damn well! HE still drives, works a full time (plus) job and is amazing everyone. I'd be happy to chat with her if she needs support positive support that is.
Lots of prayers going their way.
Hugs
