Product Recall: Children's Airwalk(r) Compel Shoes
Categories: Safety, Kid Decor & Style
Payless ShoeSource, Inc., of Topeka, Kansas, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is voluntarily recalling their Airwalk(r) Compel Clog Shoes. There are plastic rivets that attach the strap to the shoe which can come off, posing a choking hazard. There has been one report of a child who started choking on a loose rivet but, luckily, that kid is okay. These flexible clog-style shoes feature air ventilation holes on the top and sides. There is a strap attached with plastic rivets bearing the Airwalk logo. The recalled shoes were sold in prewalk size 3 through toddler size 10; no other sizes, styles or models are included in the recall. These shoes were sold at Payless ShoeSource and Pamida stores across the country and via Payless.com from August of last year through this past April, for about $13. If your children have these shoes, take them away and return them to the store where they were purchased for a refund or exchange. For more information, contact Payless at (800) 654-0697 between 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. CT Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday or visit the firm's Web site.
