Here in California, in addition to Disneyland, we've got Great America, Six Flag's Discovery Kingdom, Knott's Berry Farm where you'll see Dora the Explorer, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Snoopy, respectively. What you won't see at those parks, however, are a pants-less duck in a blue jacket, a group of short, bearded, dwarf-like guys, or big-eared mice that bear an all too close resemblance to a certain star of the film and comic book.

If you go to the Shijingshan Amusement Park in Beijing, China, however, that's exactly what you'll see, even though the park has absolutely no affiliation with the Disney corporation. The park features a Cinderella's castle, Disney-esque characters, and the slogan "Disneyland is too far". The website Japan Probe has more photos from the park, including some of a "cat with very large ears" that sure looks a lot like Minnie Mouse.

I guess if you're in the area -- the park is a mere 15 Kilometres from Tian'anmen Square -- it's worth checking out, but something tells me that the characters might be a smidge disappointing to kids raised with the official Disney versions. Still, if what you're interested in is a good time, fun rides, and a family experience, this looks intriguing.
