Which stars started out as cheerleaders?
Filed under: Day Care & Education
I was never a big fan of cheerleaders in high school. At least where I grew up, they met all the Hollywood stereotypes -- dumb, self-absorbed, rude, etc. Subsequently, I have my fingers crossed that my daughter won't be interested in drill team, or flag waving, or spirit squad (or whatever) by the time she gets to high school.
Although, maybe I'm too quick to judge. I found this photo slideshow of a number of famous people who got their start performing with their high school or college cheerleading squad.
There's a few names you'll recognize (George W. Bush, for instance), and a few you might've guessed (Paula Abdul)but there were also a number of surprises.
I'm not sure this changes my opinion on cheerleading, but it makes me wonder how all those ditzy girls from high school turned out.
