Do you need "Coming Out Insurance?"
Worried that if your child turns out to be gay you'll have to deal with all those "gay-related expenses?" Maybe you need some "Coming Out Insurance."
No, this isn't serious -- nor is it as homophobic as it sounds. It's a comedy video about how parents can protect themselves from the imagined extra expenses of having a gay child (Broadway theatre tickets, Madonna fan club membership, etc).
As someone who went to college for theatre, and thus knew a number of guys for whom these expenses were a reality, I found this absolutely hysterical. It somehow manages to simultaneously embrace and make of every gay stereotype imaginable. Plus, the parents, in their unflinching acceptance of their sons' homosexuality, are both admirable and a riot.
If you're having a child, it's a must-see.

Dana said...Funny, but the expenses in the video apply only to gay male children. For parents with lesbian daughters, expenses might include softball gear, WNBA season tickets, and spending sprees at Home Depot.
