1,000 pregnant South Africans gather, set world record
Categories: Pregnancy & Birth
Oddly, the previous world record for the number of pregnant women gathered in a single place was less than 100. For whatever reason, it seems expectant mothers don't like to congregate -- or, more likely, no one wanted to attempt a world record with so many potential medical entanglements.
However, the Your Baby Show in South Africa thought they'd give it a shot, and managed to attract 1,146 mothers-to-be, which shattered the previous total, and will now be entered into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Obviously the event organizers are pleased with their success, but are mostly happy that no one went into labor.
Can you imagine how it must of been to be in the middle of that baby show? There must have been pregnant woman in all directions as far as the eye could see. I hope everyone took photos. What a cool thing to tell your kid someday -- "before you were born, you helped set a world record!"
