Every kid needs a robotic dinosaur
Categories: Toys & Games, That's Entertainment
Christmas is still six months away, but it's never too soon to start thinking about what to buy for the kids. This year, the Hot Toy is Pleo, the robotic dinosaur. According to CNN.com, "The dinosaur, supposedly a week-old camarasaurus from the Jurassic era, makes even Furby -- once banned from the offices of the National Security Agency for fear it would learn and repeat classified information -- look like a sock puppet." Remember Furby's? Those were so cool. Imagine how much cooler a robot dinosaur would be.
Pleo comes equipped with 14 motors and six processors, which give it what is apparently incredibly lifelike movement. You know, for a dinosaur. The Furbys had one motor and one processor, which could explain why they are now extinct. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
But Pleo won't come cheap: retailing at $300, it is probably not a toy you will be sticking under the tree for your four-year-old. Although I know a four-year-old who would love this thing.
