Product Recall: Thomas & Friends(tm) Wooden Railway Toys
Filed under: Health & Safety: Babies, Toys
RC2 Corp., of Oak Brook, Illinois, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is voluntarily recalling various Thomas & Friends(tm) Wooden Railway toys. It seems the dread lead strikes even such high-end brands as Thomas -- these trains, buildings, and other accessories are decorated with lead paint. There are a number of different toys being recalled. If there is a manufacturing code, either on the bottom or inside the battery cover, toys with codes containing "WJ" or "AZ" are not included in the recall. The recall covers the toys listed below:
- Red James Engine & Red James' # 5 Coal Tender
- Red Lights & Sounds James Engine & Red James' #5 Lights & Sounds Coal Tender
- James with Team Colors Engine & James with Team Colors #5 Coal Tender
- Red Skarloey Engine

Nicola said...This one is a HUGE pain. We have pretty much every one of those. Hopefully they'll get replacements sorted right away, but somehow I think he'll have outgrown the product line by the time that we actually see hundreds of dollars of replacement toys on our doorstep...
