Hayden has teamed up with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to be the spokesperson for a new information site. 2 SMRT 4U was designed specifically to educate and inform young girls on how to avoid online predators.
No young girl wants to be nagged about this stuff by her parents. That's what makes this site a perfect tool. With Hayden attached as the spokesperson, super cute downloads and scary personal accounts from young girls who fell victim to online predators in the past, this site speaks to young girls in their own language. Oh and um, like you can get this really cool ring too! (Though you do have to enter quite a bit of personal information so they can send it to you.) Pink ribbons are so totally 80's mom!
To adults, much of this information may seem like common sense. But for young 'tweens and teens starting out on the ever-growing interweb, the decision of what you should post and whom you should trust can be overwhelming. I was amazed when watching the personal account videos, just how many of the girls fell prey to their older male predators in an act of rebellion towards their parents.
Like vegetables, I don't know how you could sneak this "good for you" item into your daughter's awareness, but I think the site and the rings will totally hit the point home.
