Um, yeah. Because she certainly looks pregnant.
In spite of her rail-thin appearance, however, the debate about whether or not Nicole Richie is carrying Joel Madden's child is raging in the tabloids. Friends say she's definitely pregnant, Richie won't say either way, and her reps won't return calls. Looks like maybe we can expect a The Simple Life season devoted to pregnancy?
How horrific.
Speculation amongst fellow socialites seems to be that Richie is hoping her mother-to-be status will keep her out of jail (she's in trouble for DWI charges) -- which is ridiculous, because pregnant woman go to jail all the time. Others are worried she won't be able to carry the baby to term -- and I'll be honest, that's pretty much what I was thinking.

Ginny said...Bobbi - I don't have ill will towards her. I think she's hilarious and I have seen The Simple Life on several occasions. I just think that she looks awful. She chose to lose weight and look like an 80 year old lady. It's not as if I was picking on something she couldn't change. She can and should gain some of her weight back. She looked great in the first season of her show.

Bobbi said...Ginny, how is it that you come to know so much about her weight? SHE claims she has difficulty gaining weight. I wouldn't know if that's the truth, so I am wondering how you would. It's funny how fat celebs can claim genetics, etc. for their weight, and most people don't utter a word to the contrary. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure people THINK it's BS, but most people have the grace to stay mum. So...I'm always a little shocked at the blatant criticism of thin stars who claim they don't try to be skinny. Have your suspicions, but keep them to yourself. Or, if you must voice them, don't be so absolute: "she can and should gain some of her weight back." Please, have some grace, even when dissing celebs.
Again, such ill will towards celebrities on this site.

As for Nicole Richie she did look better with weight on then she does now and if she is pregnant and is already having image issues with her body, what's going to happen to that baby with out the proper nutrition?

Jess said...Nicole is as far from pregnant as can be. This really started with the Enquirer, which is all made up garbage. The bump she has is most likely from being undernourished- not a baby. Joel has been out of the country on tour for a while anyway-with that and his other tours going on, she'd either be more or less "pregnant" than she is. When she supposively missed her period, that was probably because of the lack of nourishment she's getting, which is why it would be hard for her to get pregnant, even if she was trying. Not only that, but that bump seemed to come out of nowhere very quickly. If you ask me, Nicole is as pregnant as Joel.
