A-Rod's wife sports obscene tank top at game

I am a firm believer that foul language, be it written or verbal, has its place. If I break a glass or stub my toe I have been known to let an f-bomb fly out of my mouth. But I rarely use profanity in front of my kids and I would never wear a shirt emblazoned with the words "F%$# You" on it. This rule, I believe, should be adhered to by parents everywhere. We are raising children, the future of the world and all that, there is simply no need to wear trashy clothing with trashier words.Apparently Cynthia Rodriguez, husband of uber baseball player Alex Rodriguez, does not feel the same way. She was recently photographed wearing a tank top with the offensive phrase at a Yankees/Oakland baseball game. What could she have possibly been thinking? She was not in the privacy of her own home. She was with her young, toddler daughter in a very public venue where her famous husband plays a famous game.
There are far worse blunders in the world than trashy clothing worn in poor judgment, Britney Spears is a mother and she routinely errs in bad fashion taste. But the fact that this woman wore the top in such a public arena and in the company of her child seems brazenly out of place.
What do you think?

I think after all the crap in the media about "Stray Rod," she has the right to send a big f-you message to the world right now. The kids who saw the shirt aren't going to be traumatized, nor are they going to learn some kind of inappropriate lesson -- that's silly. If you're worried your kids learned something bad by seeing a shirt like that, take five minutes to teach them about appropriate use of such words and undo the damage yourself. Kids will swear anyway at some point, and then after the thrill wears off, they'll get over it and only swear when they break stuff, like the rest of us.
Plus, frankly, I admire her restraint. At least it was only written on her shirt! Had the same thing happened to me recently, I'd probably've run down to the TV cameras and yelled it right into the lenses instead of being so mellow about it. ;)

Eh, I don't freak out about four letter words. Racial slurs or sexist language- even grammatical errors- are more likely to upset me. I think the sexy trashy teeshirts that are so popular for women and little girls lately ("porn star", "supermodel" etc.) are more harmful, actually.

I'm thinking she probably wore it so the tv cameras wouldn't be able to show her with her daughter in the stands, and so print photographers can't sell any pics of her to be published in the grocery check-out gossip mags.

I think JLP has a good point - maybe she was trying to get the Paparazzi to leave her alone? Then again it might be a BIT pointless to attend a public function with cameras and your superstar (albeit wandering) husband and expect not to be photographed.
