YouTube soccer star recruited by Manchester

I'll admit that I don't spend a lot of time poking around YouTube. It's a time issue and I usually have better things to do with mine. But many of you who do check out the videos on YouTube may have seen a 9-year-old Australian named Rhain Davis showing off his mad soccer skills. The boy's prowess on the field has led some to declare him to be the next Wayne Rooney and his video has been viewed more than 800,000 times.

Davis' grandfather was so impressed with the kid's talent, he sent the footage to the Manchester United's youth staff and lo and behold, it worked. Based on that video, Davis was recruited and has moved to England to train.

While the club is downplaying the hype associated with the YouTube recruitment, young Davis is understandably thrilled. "Being here has been brilliant," The Sun newspaper quoted Davis as saying. "The best part has been meeting a lot of the players, like Wayne Rooney."

Okay, what have we learned here? I have learned that YouTube is more than just celebrities and silly kids. And that Ellie needs a new soccer coach. Watch the video, that kid is good!
