The early morning sunshine coming into the top of the frame is reflective of this mother and baby: still, quiet, peaceful, and new. The sweetest details of the foreground, the baby's downy arms, the mother's lovely skin, are in focus against the blurred green of the outside world, touching on the fact that we are viewing a mother and baby's own private world against the backdrop of the bigger one we all share.
