Wynonna Judd on saving herself and her children
Filed under: Celeb Kids, Celeb Parents
Wynonna Judd has something to say to women who think their love and devotion can fix a broken man. "... all you women out there who say love can change anything? You know what it can do? It can get you in a lot of trouble," she says.
She knows of what she speaks. Judd's second husband, D.R. Roach was arrested at the Shades of Hope Rebab Center last March on three counts of aggravated sexual assault and battery against a minor under the age of thirteen. Judd immediately filed for divorce and of her criminally wayward husband, says "I knew what I was getting into and I tried to change it. I knew that both Roach and I had issues with addiction when I married him. I know my life. I know the people I chose, I know why I chose them and I really thought that I could change people through loving them enough. It doesn't work that way."
Judd and Roach don't have children together, but she does have two children with first husband Arch Kelly III. And that is where her focus is these days. "My first response when it happened was, I am a mother first and foremost," Judd says in the August issue of Ladies' Home Journal. These days, she says she working on healing. She wants her kids to understand that bad things happen and that there is always hope. "I'm now focused on saving myself and the children," she says.

She says that she's putting her kids first, and that's great, but she didn't put her kids first when she married him.
They always teach addicts that black and white thinking is wrong, but I disagree with that. Some things ARE black and white. You don't marry a child molester. Case closed!
