Hulk Hogan's son injured in car crash

Categories: Teens & tweens, Just for dads, Health & safety, Celeb kids, Celeb parenting, Alcohol & drugs

Last night, right before I went to bed, I read the story about Hulk Hogan's son being in an automobile accident. It sounded pretty bad, with 17-year-old Nick seriously injured and another boy in critical condition. I had trouble falling asleep and as I tossed and turned, I worried for those boys and their families. To receive a phone call like they surely did is a parent's worst nightmare and I knew they wouldn't be going to bed at all.

The word this morning is that Nick's injuries are not life-threatening, but the other boy, 22-year-old John J. Graziano, is still in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. The accident occurred Sunday evening in Clearwater, Florida while Nick was driving at "a high rate of speed." The car "inexplicably left the roadway" and crashed into a palm tree. Both boys had to be extracted from the wreckage by firefighters and were then flown by helicopter to the hospital. Alcohol is not thought to have been a factor in the crash.

Of course, there is video of the scene and Hulk Hogan is there as the firefighters work to free the boys from the car. You can't see much in Hogan's expression, but my heart hurts just knowing what he's going through. This morning, I am sure the Hogan family is breathing a sigh of relief as Nick has reportedly been released from the hospital. I pray the other boy will survive as well. But for both families, life will never be the same.
