Madeleine McCann's mother to be named a suspect

That sounded too incredible to me, but according to family spokeswoman, Justine McGuinness, that is exactly what is happening. She says the police found the little girl's blood in a vehicle the family rented 25 days after her disappearance. Philomena McCann, Madeline's aunt, says, "They are suggesting that Kate has in some way accidentally killed Madeleine, then kept her body, then got rid of it."
I guess anything is possible, but I find it hard to comprehend. The Portuguese police have made all kinds of mistakes in the handling of this case and I hope this is another one.

Sadly it wouldnt be the first time a mother hurt or killed her child and then lied about it to the nation and the world. I am praying this isnt the case with this poor child.
But in the first place. Who leaves a young child watching her even younger siblings while they dine out during a family vacation? Poor decision. Terrible choice. Lets just all hope it wasnt a cover up to hide an even worse one

I can't imagine what they're going through.. Going to a restaurant (it was pretty late, so the children were supposedly sleeping?) to eat, leaving your kids at the apartment you're renting?? SO STUPID, and what happened was totally avoidable.
I find it hard to believe that Mrs. McCann did it herself - but I guess it's not impossible. Just kinda incredible. She would've had to think quickly and make a plan in a snap to be able to pull it off, especially without her husbands knowledge. And WHY would she do that?
Either way, so sad.. Honestly I try not to think about it too much.

At the moment, the most likely scenario being reported (IF Kate McCann did kill the child) is that it was accidental, perhaps as a result of sedation. (The mother was an anaesthetist before becoming a family doctor and there are reports that a syringe was found in the apartment).
IF this were so, I don't doubt for one moment that what happened immediately afterwards was with her husband's full knowledge.
I find this scenario plausible. I have always wondered why the family immediately employed a publicist, but not a private investigator, if they were so desperate to help the police find their daughter. If remains were to be found now, it would be difficult to establish the cause of death, altho' perhaps not impossible.
Also, the younger siblings apparently slept thru' the screaming and shouting that took place when it was found that 'Madeleine had been abducted'. Their parents have explained that they are sound sleepers. I wonder if they were tested for evidence of sedation.

I'm not surprised, and, frankly, I kinda wish this is what happened.
The parents didn't just make a poor choice, they made a criminal one. I'd rather know that they were just outright bad parents than have to think that not only were they bad parents, but somebody else preyed on their children as well.

So maybe mom sedated the children so that she and dad could go to dinner without the worry that the children would be up and running around the room(?) And the "checking" on the children was to make sure they were ok and/or still sedated. (?)
And during one trip up to the room it was discovered Madeline had in fact been overdosed or had a reaction and died in her "sleep"(?)
But how does that explain the "blood" that was found in the rental car? Wasnt that car rented after the child disappeared? I cant imagine parents doing something like this,, but I guess it is possible.
I hope the truth comes out. One way or the other. I just pray the above speculation doesnt come true.

Every time I read something Like this about another child missing, murdered, anything along the lines of this makes me so angry.
I read somewhere if she told the truth about Madeline and what happen that night she would only get two years in jail, while her poor baby pays the price never knowing what she could have been or done in life.

and now they have left Portugal. While I understand "wanting their twins to have a normal life" I have to question just how "normal" a life they think those twins are going to have.
For a couple that just a few weeks ago stated that "they wouldnt leave Portugal until they knew the truth and found Madeline" and are now back in England and "home" I am beginning to fear the worst.

What if something happened to Madeleine and it wasn't done by either of the parents. What if one of the twins hurt her and the parents are covering up for them. It could be a far stretch but it to is not out of the question.

This is what i thought all along, that the parents are to blame for the dissapearance of Madeline. Answeer me this if your 4 yeard old child goes missing, abducted etc etc how would you feel? you would be in despair, crying wouldn't care about anything but finding your child. But if you look at the pics seen of Kate Mccann her makeup is perfect she looks great not a sign of despair, makes you question it doesn't it.
And then Gerry writing blogs on his site, detailing what a lovely time they having taking the twins to a pool and dining with friends, wats all dat about???
I just feel sorry for Madeline, no body deserves that.

Truth not Conviction 9-22-2007 @ 5:27PM
It is not natural for a parent to hurt or kill their own child. We all know that the sad fact is that it does happen. However, if you are going to think the very worst about Gerry and Kate, then you have to be absolutely convinced "beyond all reasonable doubt" that they did it. Wrongful conviction of parents of missing or murdered children happens. Remember Sally Clark? One of the main reasons the wrongful conviction of innocent people happens is because the police are so often pressured into securing conviction, no matter what. Their prime objective is to put someone behind bars for each crime. If the crime is high profile, those who represent the authorities face massive public outrage, loss of professional respect and their careers if they fail. The minute someone's job depends on a conviction, truth and justice have a tendancy to take second place. Not one of us has seen evidence that can be sufficient to persaude them, beyond doubt, that Kate and/or Gerry killed Maddie. Of course, we are all entitled to our own feelings about what we think must have happened. But if we spread these feelings, and they are wrong, the tide will turn against Gerry and Kate, and their lives (along with those of their twins and families) will be totally and utterly ruined. And so we should beleive in their innocence until we can be persauded otherwise. And keep misguided speculation to ourselves.
