Oops, you're entering a 'shcool' zone
Categories: Education
As kids are heading back to class, getting ready to do some reading, writing, and arithmetic, one school district is learning first-hand just how important those skill are. The photo above was taken near Northwood Elementary in Kalamazoo, Michigan -- I imagine you've already noticed the unfortunate spelling error.
According to city officials, crews were expected to correct the mistake on Thursday, so it's probably gone by now.
Not that I'm immune to spelling errors, so I'm certainly not judging. It is, however, a fairly ironic thing for gradeschoolers to pass every morning -- especially as they head off to class, where they're learning how to spell (we hope). If nothing else, it teaches Northwood kids that everyone makes mistakes.

It reminds me of an old Superbowl or maybe just fooball commercial where this old guy was painting the endzone for what seemed like forever and just as he was finishing one of the football players walked by and said something like, "nice work, but who are the Chefs?" Supposed to be Chiefs. "Great Googly-Moogly" was the old guys reply:)

Tisha, that's my second favorite commercial of all time. Wasn't it Snickers? "Not going anywhere for a while"?
We still refer to that team as the Chefs.

Actually received a hardback, published school yearbook that spelled out the name of the "Elementry" school on the cover. I was horrified. I don't think the school even had corrections made.

Classic picture! I'm glad they caught it before it was corrected. I just wanted to correct the school name. There is no Northwood school in Kalamazoo. Was it Northglade?

Funny. But, with kids making up their own spellings "luv u cu L8r 2day @ skol", it may not matter. LOL
On the other hand, I would support changing "through" to "thru".
