Jenny McCarthy: Jim Carrey is 'autism whisperer'

Being a single mom with a young child makes dating a bit complicated. When your child has special needs, the complications can be even greater and Jenny McCarthy understands this. Her 5-year-old son Evan was diagnosed with autism two years ago and McCarthy worried about ever finding a man that was right for both of them. That's why she waited months before introducing her son to boyfriend Jim Carrey. Of Carrey's interest in her 5-year-old-son, she tells People, "He was intrigued," she says. "He asked questions. Still, it took me about a few months to bring Evan over."
But once the two did meet, it was a match made in heaven. "Beyond doubt it was written in the stars that Jim and Evan were a pair," she says."He's actually helped Evan get past some obstacles I couldn't. I sometimes call him the autism whisperer. He speaks a language Evan understands, and Evan feels safe with him."
McCarthy has written a book detailing her experience with her son's autism. Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism was released earlier this month and in it, McCarthy talks about the frustrations and joys of raising an autistic child.
As to whether or not she and Carrey plan to ever tie the not, she sounds pretty adamant that it won't happen. "There will be no certificate," she says. "It goes far deeper than that. Jim came into our life with an open heart and open arms. He's learned a lot about autism. He listens. The power of listening. It can move mountains.

DaMoKi Bob said...I just watched the 20/20 piece on her and her son. We really should rejoice in what some would call a miracle, but what struck me was her doctor's reaction to the "cure". Doctors really are human, but to say it was not really a cure because it was not really autism was not just medical denial, but potentially a lost opportunity to help others. You would think he would jump at the chance to explore any hope for improvement where there was virtually none!
The "arrogance of ignorance" is the binding, which enslaves a closed mind.

There are no autistic children in the Amish community and THEY DON'T VACCINATE! HMMMM????!!!!
There is too much money to be made and there would be too much revolt from all the negative press that there will never be an admission. Hopefully with being seen on Oprah and Good Morning America today, people will open their eyes and see the truth. There are tons of books out there explaining the negativity of vacc's. We have treated more patients with complications due to the vacc., than for the "disease" itself. Watch out for the new Gardisil hoax coming, too. Oh, and Rumsfeld and the avian flu is a good one, too. mercola.com is a great website, along with NVIC. Check it out and protect yourself the way mother nature intended. With proper nutrition.

Hope said...Please Read the book by Lorraine Day, M.D.
called Getting Started on getting well.
She cured her own cancer by natural remedies. EVERYONE MUST READ HER PAGE ABOUT ---VACCINATINIONS--- STATED ON PAGE 131 BEGINNING. I would be glad to email it anyone who would like it, its pretty long but very detailed and in easy to understand. It includes the MMR SHOT, FLU SHOT, POLIO SHOT,ETC.
"Vaccinations Don't work, they are very dangerous, they often cause the very disease they are supposed to prevent." Lorraine Day,M.D. "Autism was not known until 1943, the same time the pertussis vaccine (for whooping cough)was introduced" "Vaccines are grown in the lab. in monkey kidney cells, in human cells, in chick embryo,& guinea pig cells, the cells are nourished w/ the blood serum from calves, whichmay be contaminated w/ numerous diseases as bovine leukemia virus, bovine AIDS VIRUS, and other diseases that the animals have such as mad cow disease, also chemicals such as aluminum, formaldehyde, msg, thiomerosal(a deadly poison and derivative of mercury)is used as a preservative. These are all injected into your childs body or your body as part of the vaccine."
At first I thought these gov.mandated shots are for our own good but I realize now, this gov. is crooked and unhuman. obviously they don't care who dies from there billion dollar industry of drug making and aparantly want to "weed out" some americans. its our only hope to fend for our own and stand up for our own rights to NOT have to take these shots if we do not want to.

My son has had his first MMR shot, but ever since, a swirling red light with sirens has been annoying me. I ignored all of the Health care Nurse's messages saying it was time for booster shots, the warnings were SCREAMING at me to NOT get this vacc. I sat my husband down to explain the things I had been experiencing, and he just said "you're the Mom, I trust your instincts". No more shots for this kid. My neighbor has an 11 month old boy and hasn't heard anything about this......

The reason we never heard of autism before was because these children were simply classified as mentally challenged, or schizophrenic, or numerous other diagnosis that today we know don't apply to them.
The reason we don't have rampant plagues of these virus's is becuase we VACCINATE OUR CHILDREN! Polio, etc are crippling terrible, awful diseases thgat you can still see today in 3rd world countries. But not in this one - because why? VACCINATIONS!
Autism is not something that you can "cure," and telling parents that is nothing more than cruel as they sit there hopelessly wondering what they are doing wrong the their child can't be "fixed" like Jenny McCarthy's.
You folks need to check out some of these so-called "doctors" on quackwatch.com. These vaccinations RARELY cause the diseases they were meant to prevent. Please, protect your children.

There are a few fathers out there (like me) who have spent our lifetime to help our loving son/daughter through Autism. I have devoted my life toward my children.
From Behavior Modification at UCLA, Auditory and Sensory Integration Therapy, taking son to Doctors, reading books, fighting the schools for aides, fighting Regional Center for BM Funding, Support Groups, etc. has all been worth it. My son has come along way, thanks to his effort, devoted therapists, school aides and Doctors specializing in Autism. I owe you all my life, each and every one who has contributed to helping my son with his disability. You are all my true hero's.

Barry said...Men are actively involved with helping cure their sons/daughters of Autism. I have spent my lifetime helping my son and others to help find cures for this horrible disablity. I have fought(and won) with the Regional Centers to provide Behavior Mod to all Autistic children, fought the school system to allow all Autistic children to move to regular classrooms with and aide, etc. I have been a part of support groups and other groups to find cures.
I have devoted my life to my children.
Their are few good maternal fathers out their who love their children, who will do anything to help them succeed in life.
God Bless all the behavior therapists, doctors, school aides, and teachers who have helped my son achieve his goals of being "Normal". They (beside my son) are my true hero's.
Now we need the Government (CDC) to step up and force doctors to check each child immune system before giving shots that help cause Autism.
