Hannah Montana is 'like the Beatles'
Categories: Celeb Kids, That's Entertainment
First of all, Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana, is NOT pregnant. The rumor was just that - a rumor, started deliberately by an unknown person who doctored up a J-14 article with false information.
What is true is that the 14-year-old pop star is hitting the road for a 54-date tour and tickets are hot, hot, hot. In fact, tickets for her Best of Both Worlds tour are outselling such big-name attractions as The Police, Justin Timberlake and Bruce Springsteen. "We knew it was hot, but we had no idea it was this crazy," said Debra Rathwell, of AEG Live, which is handling her tour. "It's like the Beatles."
She may be selling like the Beatles, but when I saw Paul McCartney at Portland's Rose Garden several years ago, I paid $250 for a 7th row floor seat (worth every penny, by the way). A quick check at several online ticket 'liquidators' shows similar seats selling for over $1000!
I have never fully understood how this scalping business works, but clearly a lot of money is being made out there. Even though the tour promoter put a $65 cap on ticket prices and a maximum of four tickets per transaction, many tickets are now being resold for four and five times their face value.
So, what is a parent with a Hannah fan to do? Sean Pate, a spokesman for Stub-Hub says to try a little patience. "The prices that you see now are not the prices that are going to hold," he says. "Parents need to set a price that they are comfortable with and watch the market on a daily basis."
So, how much would you pay to see Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana?

THIS IS HORRIBLE, THIS BITCH IS OUTSELLING THE POLICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a disgrace, Police are too cool to be outsold by a whiny teenage girl, who is just two f*cking years older then me!

I waited on line to buy tickets and clicked immediately when tickets went on sale. I had four others do the same thing.
I got: There are no tickets available.
Ugh.
I wanted to take my daughter, but I'm not willing to pay over face value. Added to that I was going to have to take her out of school, spend the night in a hotel and drive 3 hours to get there.
I told her I tried to get tickets and she smiled and replied, "At least you tried. I love you."
Whew !

I would pay every penny I ever own to never see Hannah Montana in concert. I absolutely refuse to believe that some 14-year-old Disney Channel Princess is at the same rank as The Beatles. I am horribly offended by that quote. Classic Rock and the British Invasion are both untouchable. If I hear about Hannah freakin Montana being even remotely close to the Beatles' status, I will have an absolute cow. This is such an insult to myself and The Boys, who, in case some of you have forgotten, set the pace for all music to follow.
Your article title is very deceiving: Hannah Montana is in no way 'like The Beatles'. In fact, she is everything that they weren't.

Hannah Montana is not a show I watch. It is not a show I have ever wanted to watch, and after seeing one episode, it is a show I have no need to see ever again. There is no way on God's green earth, the Universe, or any other dimension you may believe in that she can even come CLOSE to the legend and TALENT that is the Beatles. The Beatles were, are, and continue to be the greatest. Hannah Montana? Flash in the pan. I would not pay any sum of money at ALL to see her in concert. I'm saving for Paul's next tour, thanks.
I agree, Clara: what an insult to the Boys and to all their loyal fans. She is not like the Beatles. She only wishes she could ever be like the Fab Four.

Now seriously, come on folks! I have many friends who are into this idiot, who make fun of me for liking the BEATLES...Hannah Montana (which that isn't even her real name....they couldn't come up with something better? Like Richard Starkey and Ringo Starr. That works ;)) is not like the Beatles in anyway.
And yes: Hollis and Clara, this is quite an insult to the Beatles and I will renew my vows on that I shall never watch, listen to, or go to a Hannah Montana show.
I'm not that good with words, I hope I made my point. (steps off soapbox) Good Night and thanks for the bread.

You can't compare her to the Beatles. There should be a law against that! All Beatles fans reading this, who joins me! Make a law against comparing trash (aka Hannah Montanna) with gold (the Beatles, obviously). I am within the age group that Hannah friggin Montanna is aiming for and I HATE HER. I wish she would go away, far far away! People tell me every day "oh what is wrong with you, you hate Hannah?" and if she went away forever I, and a bunch of other Beatles fans like me, would be so much happier. I saw the show on T.V ONCE and she practically promotes cattiness. She is on the same level as Heather Mills and Yoko Ono: BELOW RATS. If the devil had a child and that child had a pet rat, and that pet rat had a child, and that rat-child had a pet itself, that would be Hannah, Heather, and Yoko. And that concludes my comment. :-)
