Harry Potter helps the blind

J. K. Rowling rarely signs copies of her books, but she signed seven of them -- one of each -- for the National Braille Press to auction off as part of their annual fundraiser. The event will take place October 26 and will be hosted by Jay Leno who, of course, can more commonly be seen hosting the Tonight Show on late night television.

The complete set was donated by Rowling herself and the proceeds from the sale will go to help the non-profit organization produce braille versions of children's books. A similar set of autographed books sold recently in Scotland for $40,000 -- that'll pay for a lot of books! In case you want this set but can't make it to the auction, you can bid on the books online. Good luck!
