Holiday Toy Shortages
Filed under: Babies, Toddlers Preschoolers, Preschoolers, Toys
You might want to load up on children's holiday gifts sooner than later this year. Due to this year's recalls and the resulting increased product testing, many of this years hottest toys might not be gracing the shelves of your local toy stores come December.
According to Neil Friedman, president of Mattel Brands, the extra safety checks implemented by toy-makers will add to the supply issues in the upcoming months. Considering the last two months of the year account for up to 80 percent of the toy industry's profit, this could be a slight problem.
Well, if the toys aren't going to be around this holiday season, could the industry at least sell the packaging? It seems the box is the only part my son is interested in anyway.
