Eco-friendly: Little Green Star tees

"Powered by Organic Milk". I need this shirt for my little guy, as he is definitely an organic milk guzzler. In fact, not only is he an organic milk guzzler, but an official milk aficionado. You see, he actually prefers one brand of organic milk over another. The most expensive brand, of course. Give him the less-expensive brand and he tosses across the room, but pour some Horizon in his sippy cup and he can't consume it fast enough.
He is his mother's son. What can I say.
This tee from Little Green Star would be just perfect for my connoisseur. Little Green Star's philosophy is to provide families with products that align with their sustainable values and inspire little ones to develop their own ideas on how to care for the earth. All of their clothing is 100% certified organic with great messages about protecting our environment.
Check out some of their other designs here. Tees are $24.00 with free shipping on all orders to the United States.

I hate to tell you this, but Horizon is NOT organic. We have a child with allergies and we found out the hard way ourselves about all things Horizon brand and stopped buying it all together (and anything else that company makes). We have been much more careful about the organics we buy.

Smock Lady - you beat me to it! I was just about to say that Horizon is well known for actually using NON-ORGANIC MILK!! (I swear, my trust in corporations gets less and less daily)
It is coming from the factory-style dairy farms where the animals are kept in intensive confinement and have been imported from conventional farms as calves. They simply label it organic, and the USDA lets them get away with it.
They also wean their calves on dead cow's blood - a practice not condoned at all by Organic bodies.
They have even been known, when overly busy, to simply buy NORMAL MILK from other dairies who use antibiotics etc and then label that milk as Organic.
Whenever I am in the US I make sure I buy some brand other than Horizon.
(PS Horizon isn't the cheapest organic milk in the area of NE Ohio where my parents live. After I heard and read about their dodgy factory farming practices I always thought that was how they could afford to undercut the other dairy companies).
Rant over! ;)

I know its off of the t-shirt topic, but I had to add my rant re: Horizon. They are by far the best marketed and most mainstream "organic" company, which I suppose should trigger suspicions in the first place, but stores are STILL carrying their product. And when you eat out or go to the local coffee shop, guess which organic milk brand they'll have for your little one? Yep, Horizon. Product placement in t.v. shows and movies. Always Horizon. All about the profit.
We get our milk from the local dairy, organic and hormone free. We also buy our cheese, eggs, and all other dairy products there. Even ice cream! When pressed to buy milk or dairy at the grocery store, we always use Organic Valley. They are a family farm coop and well respected in organic circles. Plus, their milk is DELICIOUS.

How did they discover this fraud? Is there an article detailing the inspection results or something?
This has been my beef with organic anything...who really knows what's organic? I'm willing to pay more if I'm getting more/healthier, but I *really* hate paying extra to get shafted. I've always wondered because I never had any faith in corporations.
I know that most of us think that "organic" means "humane", but I thought it meant "properly fed without all that crap".
