Seven habits of highly successful fathers
Categories: Just For Dads, Fun & Activities, Books
How hard can it be to be a father? Well, getting into the business isn't tough, once you find a willing partner, but once production is complete, the real work gets started and, believe me, that ain't easy. Well, paying homage to Stephen Covey's classic book, here is a list of the Seven Habits of Highly Successful Fathers. There's nothing on this list that will surprise anyone, but it is a good reminder of how we dads need to put our kids first in so many ways. I know the first habit -- keeping stress to myself -- is a real challenge for me. "Children shouldn't have to be burdened with adult problems," according to the author. "They have enough to deal with just being kids; growing, learning, exploring, and evolving. Instead of sharing your difficulties with them, keep your time with them about them."
All in all, this is a good list of things to keep in mind. It is by no means complete, but it's a good start. Any thoughts on what to add?
