Baby video pulled because of Prince song -video

If you're thinking about posting a YouTube clip with a Prince song playing in the background, you might offend The Purple One.
A video of an eighteen-month-old going, well, crazy to Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" was pulled for copyright infringement, reportedly at the request of Prince himself. The child's mother is suing for damages claiming the usage falls within fail use boundaries. Before the raspberry beret hit the fan, the video had only been seen by a couple dozen family members.
I don't know what Prince's problem is, I think it's pretty cool to see a whole new generation rocking out to his music!

Sorry guys, I'm pretty certain you already wrote about this months ago.

I don't know what the PARENTS are thinking, frankly. Their reaction to this is to "sue for damages"? How were they damaged, exactly? If they wanted to share the video with family, there are lots of ways to do it that wouldn't impact copyright law (email, posting it on a secure site that only lets limited users see it, etc.). It's putting it out on the web for ALL to see that enters it into copyright infringement territory.
Seriously? Suing for DAMAGES? That makes me ill. People suck.

Suing for damages?? Pathetic!
I don't agree with Prince's over-reaction either. I used to play this song in a band for years... thank goodness I don't owe him royalties ;-) (Oh jeeze… I hope his lawyers don’t read this!)
