Brooke Burke expecting number four
Categories: Celeb Kids, Life & Style, Celeb Parenting
How can a mother of three possibly look this good? Burke says she took her mother-in-law's advice after baby number three and wrapped her belly in an ACE bandage to reduce the swelling. She says this helped everything go back where it belonged much quicker. She was so impressed with the results that she has designed her own line of post-pregnancy belly wraps and plans to sell them through her online store. I've never heard of such a thing, but am intrigued. Have any of you ever tried an ACE bandage belly wrap after giving birth?

Her ex-husband, the father of her two older children, is a plastic surgeon. I bet that helped. :)

Sounds like the same concept as using Spanx, which is what Gweneth Paltrow raved about post-pregnancy.

in Latin America is common practice to "bind" yourself after childbirth. I went back to my regular jeans 5 days after my first daughter was born and 11 days after my second baby.
it's not big news, and it's totally effective.

Breastfeeding is another great way to get your uterus to shrink after giving birth, and to burn calories. It takes a lot of energy to feed your baby naturally. Eat a sensible diet (but complete - do not diet while breastfeeding) and you will lose that baby weight AND benefit your baby's health!

In 1959 when I was preparing for the birth of my daughter my doctor gave me a list of things I would need when I left the hospital. One was a girdle. He said he would not discharge me until I had it on and I was to wear it daily for the next 3 weeks. It worked. Sometimes old is new again!!.. Girls, listen to your Mamas.

Hmmmm, the AOL teaser says "actress". That is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?

PLEASE! She has had so much done. Her ex husband was a plastic surgeon. YOU can not get a stomach that flat from tying a band around your stomach.
What helps is eating right, drinking water, and working out (both cardio and aerobic).

Well not eating like a pig and gaining over 100+ pounds does help! I walked out of the hospital weighing what I weighed before my pregnancy and my son was over 10lbs. Girls use it as an excuse to eat what they want and gain disgusting amounts of weight. Weight loss is hard work! Much harder than "eating for two". I'd love a plastic surgeon to remove some excess skin! HAAAA good point #1.

Where are her stretch marks, saggy boobs, cellulite? I'm sure plastic surgery might have helped some-no ace bandage will do anything about that!

As a former Nurse and taught in the "old school" traditions, you were right on about wearing a girdle. I know of some Doctors that still suggest a panty girdle (one without the bones in it from yeateryear) to this date. There are just some tried and true tips that always work.

There is nothing wrong with plastic surgery, except to lie about having had it. BUT, the best thing any pregnant woman can do for herself to get back in shape is to BREASTFED her baby. Nature has designed it as the way to finish the pregnancy and get healthy. The weight will come off.

can you breast feed with a boob job? It is sickening watching TV with all those huge, fake boobs almost hanging out.

It's NOTHING NEW - they were "binding their bellies" back when MY mother was a young Mom - she was born in 1924

Yeah, an ACE wrap... and 2 hours at the gym each day, which she isn't mentioning. It would be very nice to just apply pressure to your abdomen and have it go back down to size, but in the real world it's the daily excercise that does the job.

I had five children and I always wore a maternity girdle which was popular way back when. And I must say that I went back to my shape within 3 weeks. And also I dont have any stretch marks. So it is good to wrap your belly. It works.

You ladies on here that say you walked out of the hospital in your pre-pregnancy jeans, or that you were wearing them just days post partum, are full of it! I only gained 30# and I couldn't get into my prepregnancy jeans for at least 3 months post baby because my hips were so wide from child birth. Everyone else out there know that these ladies are the exception, not the rule. Those ladies will be the ones telling their daughter's or daugters in law the same things and making them feel less than normal....shut up! And stretch marks are an individual thing too. If your mother has them, you probably will too. I didn't get them personally, but my sister did.

I don't even know where I got the advice, but I did bind myself with an ACE bandage after my deliveries (the second time of twins) and I have no stretch marks and a flat stomach. Plus, it just feels good to pull everything in and have the extra support!
