Latest YouTube superstar is awkward dancing pre-teen (Video)
Tina's room looks pretty straightforward for a kid her age. And when she speaks, she sounds like your typical junior high kid -- awkward, a little self-conscience, and hindered by a mouth full of braces.
But Tina is a superstar -- at least online. All she does is post videos of herself dancing and singing along to pop songs in her bedroom, and yet she has fans (thousands of whom view everything she posts), more than 200 comments on her most recent effort, and an official endorsement from celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton.
In the above video, she dances to the Backstreet Boys in a performance that, for all it's shortcomings, is incredibly endearing.

Heather said...She is clearly developmentally delayed, you didn't need to post this. She cute and all but isn't it a tad bit immature to be covering this video on Parentdish.

RobMonroe said...Heather - I disagree with you. Just because she might have a developmental delay does not mean that she should be ignored on a parenting site like this. If she is comfortable enough with herself to put up video's on YouTube, and lots of them, I think we should be able to celebrate her efforts.
The more often that we ignore or turn away from things like this, the more it seems that it's something that is wrong. This is not wrong.
This is a girl - a regular girl - doing regular girl things.

HM said...According to Perez Hilton, she's 16, not a preteen. And the "official celebrity endorsement" is just a loser making fun of a developmentally-delayed girl.
