Elisabeth Rohm's baby name a dream come true
Filed under: Just For Moms, Celeb Kids, Celeb Parents
Law & Order actress Elisabeth Rohm and her fiance Ron Wooster thought they had the perfect name picked out for their daughter, who is due in April. But one night, a rather unusual dream caused them to rethink their choice."In the dream I was picking her up from a friend's house, and she wouldn't respond to her name, Grace," said Rohm. "Finally I said, 'Easton?' and she turned around and said, 'Yes Mommy?' We were leaning towards [naming the baby] Grace but in the end decided to give her the name she asked for," says Rohm.
I think that is a cool story. How could she not name her child Easton after a dream like that?

Uly said...By considering that Easton is an incredibly unusual name (by which I mean the kid is doomed to a life of repeating her name and having people misspell it), and that many people have weird dreams all the time. There's more gravy than baby about them!

Victoria said...What a horrible name. She should have stuck with the name Grace. So she had some dream? Big deal. I feel sorry for their daughter.

Lisa said...I had a similar experience when naming my daughter. My husband and I had already picked out her first name (Alexis), but were having problems thinking of a middle name to go with it. I was walking through a store towards the baby department when I saw the name "Morgan" out of the corner of my eye. I turned around to see what it was on, but could find NOTHING in sight that had Morgan on it! Yep, she's Alexis Morgan. I figure if I'm going to get clues like that, I might want to go with them.

bossmoss99 said...maybe it just means she will be born on a different day than the day that grace stands for in that clasic poem...
i'm too tired from a nap to remember it. perhaps one of you can? or google it for me since i'm too groggy?
it goes something like...
mondays child is full of grace
tuesdays child is __?
and so on...
all i remember is i am a friday's child.
the thing about her name tho was said tongue in cheek. i dig the dream story and choice of name because of it.

tuesday's child is fair of face
wednesday's child is full of woe
thursday's child has far to go
friday's child must work for a living
saturday's child is kind and giving
but the child born on the sabbath day is fair and kind and happy and gay
something like that - i'm quoting from memory
Easton is a great name - unusual but not weird

Stacy said...EASTON is a horrible name to saddle a girl with! Why do people have to name their kids after cities or statesor even countries, e.g., DAKOTA, DALLAS, AUSTIN, IRELAND and now EASTON? AWFUL, awful names. Grace is such a pretty name, too. I feel sorry for the little girl.

Lynda said...Why is it anyone's business what loving parents name their child? The true inheritance is that the child was anticipated, loved and dreamed about. Oh, that every unborn and newborn could have two loving parents who have nothing greater to do in their lives than choose the perfect name for their child.
Who is the true and correct judge of baby names?

Paulette said...When I was pregnant I often dreamed of my baby. I got the idea to ask the baby what his name was the next time I had the dream. In the dream, the baby said his name was Bryce. However, when he was born, I named him Mark and that was the perfect name. I don't put my confidence in dreams.
