What made Matt Damon the"Sexiest Man Alive"
Categories: Development, Celeb parenting, That's entertainment
My theory of why People magazine waited until now to name Matt Damon 'Sexiest Man Alive': becoming a dad made his hotness impossible to ignore any longer.
Damon became a step-father to seven-year-old Alexia two years ago when he married her mother, Luciana Bozan Barroso. Baby Isabella joined the family a year ago, and family man appears to be the role Damon relishes the most, as evidenced by his adorably modest refusal of the title.
"You gave an aging suburban dad the ego boost of a lifetime," he says in a letter published in the magazine. "My 9-year-old stepdaughter now thinks I'm cool - well, cooler."
The Bourne star humbly continues, " this is a mantle I wasn't meant to hold. Don't get me wrong, though. I was really shocked and happy (Lucy said I actually blushed) when I heard the news. So I can't thank you enough for that."
Proving that fatherhood only makes a man sexier, celebrity dads: Brad Pitt, Patrick Dempsey, Johnny Depp, Will Smith, and Ben Affleck also made the list this year.

Being from Boston I am not surprised at all that Matt was named sexiest man alive. What surprised me was the omission of George Clooney

I think Richard Dean Anderson is the sexiest man alive. Like wine, he just keeps getting better and better with age.

Problem w/ George Clooney is that he's become an insufferable political ass. After awhile, people just get tired of ignorant, ill-informed souls from spouting off on topics they aren't intimately associated with. ala Tom Cruise. ala Rose O'Donnell, etc

I think I like father figures whether the man is actually a father or not. I wrote a whole post on this for Lust Bites awhile back.

Matt Damon doesn't really do it for me, because he's just not old enough. Give him a few years, and I might change my mind!

I don't know I would say sexy as much as a talented non-pompous actor.
I look forward to this issue of People magazine. I also love the Beautiful People issue and the issue where they show people losing a ton of weigh with before and afters.

Men who are good fathers are always attractive. We like them because they take care of their young, who are ours as women; that's a big plus. If they stay, they have traveled beyond, more than the gorilla, but to a human.

I am a stay at home father. I see the way moms look at me. Like - I wish my husband would do what you are doing. Working men are threatened by it.
Being a FATHER is macho. Being a sperm donor any man can do. Cowboy Up Men ! Stay at home and be a father.

I can't help it but I really like this man. Sexy in a way that it doesn't seem sexy....that' sexy to me. The "dad thing" is icing on the cake.

I'm surprised why they didn't get into why fathers are sexier than childless men. To women it's all about whether that man will be a good provider, which subconsciously still ranks high on a woman's wish list of what is desireable in a man (aside from a six-pack and a tight behind...).

Liberals cannot possibly be good fathers. Liberals believe in "progressive" taxation and redistribution of wealth, policies that work against people becoming financially independent and therefor not in need of government subsidy or dependence on the Democrats. A real man, and a real dad, understands that what he earns is rightly his, and after his passing belongs to his offspring.
