Eminem puts his daughter before career
Filed under: Celeb Kids, Celeb Parents
I often wonder how people who travel a lot for work deal with leaving their kids behind. Celebrities and regular folks alike who must leave home in order to work surely deal with guilt and anguish each time they pack their bags. I know I wouldn't want to leave my family on a regular basis and apparently, neither does rapper Eminem.According to his rapper buddy 50 Cent, Eminem's 6-year-old daughter has made her feelings about daddy's traveling quite clear. "I've toured more than him because he has Hailey and he likes to physically be at the house. A lot of people don't know the reason behind him touring less - but Hailey would put boxes in front of the door thinking this would stop him going," 50 told MTV.co.uk.
That is kind of a sad picture and I respect Eminem for putting his daughter before his career. But unlike lots of parents, he obviously has a choice to stay home or not. Some parents don't have that choice and must travel as a requirement of their jobs. How do you deal with leaving your children when you have to leave home for business?

That's one heck of a GREAT DAD! It's so sad that the majority of men up and leave their kids without any consideration to their feelings. ANY man that would sacrifice his career for his children is a true & loving parent.
Eminem has made sufficient money to live a nice, comfortable modest life. He has the best of both worlds going for him. I applaud his decision and wish him the best of luck.

My husband is deployed right now. He's been gone for 5 months, and will be gone another 10. At first, he didn't seem to care that he'll miss our second son's entire babyhood. I think he regrets it now, though. He could have had a much better paying job out of the military, but he chose to stay. Personally, I think it's ridiculous, but that's me.
