Spice kids passing chickenpox
Filed under: Health & Safety: Babies, Celeb Kids, Celeb Parents, That's Entertainment
Disease happens, even to Spice girls.
Ginger Spice, Gerri Halliwell is having to leave her eighteen month old daughter home while the rest of the gang goes to Vancouver to kick of their world tour.
"Bluebell caught chickenpox from Cruz," Halliwell said this morning on a British TV show. "She's now completely pelted now so I left her at home. Normally they're running around the set."
Luckily, first time mom Halliwell isn't upset over the accidental exposure. She shared daughter Bluebell,"loves hanging with the Beckham boys. Cruz and Bluebell have play dates, and Romeo – well, he is just gorgeous with her. Actually, it was a beautiful moment when we were rehearsing the other day and all of our kids were playing on the stage at the same time. It made me smile."
Between all the Spices,, the girls have seven children: Victoria Beckham (Posh) has three sons: Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 5, and Cruz; Emma Bunton (Baby) has son Beau, born in August; Melanie Brown (Scary) has two children, Phoenix Chi, 8, and Angel, born in April, while Halliwell (Ginger) has little Bluebell. Melanie Chisholm (Sporty) is the only Spice that doesn't need a nanny or babysitter on staff before heading out on tour.
My first two sons got chicken pox, but the last two were given the vaccine. Since the shots became require around here, I haven't heard of many kids having chicken pox anymore. Are kids still getting it in your area?

Not everyone will get shingles if they have had chicken pox. As for the vaccine my sons range in age from 16 to 5 there was no vaccine offered when the oldest was young. I let him get expose to the chicken pox probably 5 times before he got it. Now he will not have to suffer the severe symptoms and complications that my brother did when he got them at age 35. Sure he may, and I stress may get shingles but if you ever saw an adult with chicken pox it was worth it. My youngest has been vaccinated and his Pedi. told me when I asked that they are not sure how long or effective the immunization will last or be. So now my youngest will need a booster about age 10 or 12, and so on and so on,
That is what his dr. recommends for precaution. Please remember whooping cough, polio, etc. was all but erraticadited and is now making a come back this can be the same for chicken pox. No immunization is 100% guarnteed.

trixi8 said...ok. let me set you straight people. lol.
heres the FACTS...you CAN NOT get shingles unless you have been exposed to the chicken pox. SHINGLES are NOT contagious. but if you have shingels you can give someone who HASNT HAD pox, pox. the ONLY WAY to get shingles is to have been sxposed to pox, even if you didnt have any signs of pox.
chicken pox can be dangerous IF you have a damged immune system, and it is very rare. i had chicken pox.
and no, vaccines do NOT ward off any form of pox. you got a mild case bc of your immune system, not bc of the vaccine. in fact, im not even sure if they were pox.
doenst sound right, in my opinion.
my sister had pox, i had pox. my mother did not get it bc her immunity to it. BUT bc she was exposed to the herpes zoster virus, there is a chance she could get shingles.
shingles is a nerve disorder, which is why it is painful. the herpes virus that causes pox/shingles lies dormant in your nerves.
please read up before ya'll start telling people half truths.
i know plenty fo kids who are not vaccinated...and plenty who had it.

So, my children have been immunized and my 10 year old just had his first booster. From my experience, getting them the "old fashion" way didn't help me from being infected two more times!

hopefully the vaccine keeps its work up, i don't need them now, but neither my dad or his two brothers have had them either which is weird...

Considering how dangerous and miserable chicken pox can be, someone's got to ask: What kind of low-life mother leaves her sick child for a paycheck? If any complication happens to her child, Halliwell will never forgive herself for abandoning her child in a time of danger -- and nor should she.

I believe it is due to their mother's caution in running out and getting every vaccine as soon as it is out. A 2 year old child we know was given the chickenpox vaccine and was in the hospital the next day with a severe reaction, they thought she had leukemia or some other dread disease. The hospital would not accept that the vaccine had anything to do with this but we are not sure. The child has some brain delay but otherwise, seems to be o.k. Just be careful.

If your children are never

they ebgin to sociaize with
other kids they may become very ill.

I respect your views on vaccination and chemical-free lifestyles. I don't agree with all of your points, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Then, I read one of your later comments. Puleeze! Your children "have never cried in public," -- yea right. They never "grab" or "whine." What kind of kids are you raising?!! Even the most well-behaved child has an occassional meltdown when you're out and about. If what you're writing is really true, and your child has never misbehaved in public, I think you need to pay a visit to your pediatrician. Your kids might not have runny noses, but something isn't right.
