Maxim lists hottest pregnant woman
Filed under: Bump Watch, Celeb Parents
Just in case the average gestating woman wasn't intimidated enough by the gorgeous women on magazine covers, Maxim magazine has helpfully provided a list of the hottest pregnant women, ever and there's not a stretch mark, double chin, or swollen ankle to be seen.
According to the magazine, the hottest during pregnancy are:
1. Halle Berry
3. Heidi Klum
4. Brooke Burke
5. Gwen Stefani
7. Naomi Watts
Maxim missed a few women, though. I did a little research and found some pretty babelicious bellies right here among ParentDish staff, as well as some good sports who could laugh at how horrific pregnancy was on their appearance. (Umm, that would be me.)
So enjoy the following gallery of REAL pregnant women and know that swollen, makeup-less pregnant unfamous women can be hot in their own way, that's why we turn the heat way down when with child.
(Cue Pussycat Dolls "Don't Cha" before clicking on the gallery for added hilarity!)

I wore beautiful (and cheap!) maternity wear from Old Navy and Target while pregnant and looked cute.
I buy most of my stuff at an online shopping
mall that gives me between 5-55% back in cash on all my purchases.
There are over 1000 stores including Sephora, Apple, The Gap, Target (great for soo much), Macy's. I also wait for sales so I get my cash back and the lowest price

Peanuts said...I am oh so tired of Halle Berry. She is as over exposed and over blown as Julia Roberts. (Let me say Halle is beautiful-vs Julia who in my opinion is not) But both are always on the top of the lists. Who votes on these lists? There are oh so many actresses out there that looked amazing, but we always have Halley or Julia on the top.
They should have most over exposed and over touted list
Halle would be on the top of that too! ;)
Along with Jennifer Aniston, Julia Robersts, Beyonce...I could go on but I think you get it.

LENNY STEBULIS said...GEE.... YESTERDAY AOL RAN AN ARTICLE ON TEEN PREGNANCIES ON THE RISE AND "FEDERAL OFFICIALS ARENT SURE WHY"....
COULD IT BE BECAUSE THE KIDS GET FED A STEADY STEAM OF CELEBRITIES WHO ARE BREEDING OUT OF WEDLOCK LIKE SOME THIRD WORLD COUNTRY...???
THEY ACT AS IF THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF BIRTH CONTROL.
THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE TEENS GETTING PREGNANT DON'T HAVE THE RESOURCES THE CELEBRITIES HAVE (LIKE INCOME, NANNIES, HOMES, ETC...) AND THE BABIES END UP IN SINGLE PARENT HOUSEHOLDS THAT THE "FEDERAL OFFICIALS (READ... TAXPAYERS) END UP SUPPORTING.

Who made the rule that swollen ankles and double chins weren't attractive!!??? Any woman willing to give her body up for another human life is considered beautiful, this whole story upsets me, I dont think anyone on this earth needs to be recognized for being prettier than someone else, everyone is beautiful in their own way and shouldn't be put below another person just because they've gained a few pounds bringing a human in this world, I find this very offensive and stupid....this is why the world is the way it is now............

We hear people talk about us on the street, and in the store. We read about "teen mothers" in the paper. We wonder--"Who are they talking about?" This is what we hear and read: "Babies having babies." "I hope you're babysitting!" "Your life is over now." "How old was she when she had her?" "They just think their babies are dolls to dress up and show off!" "They will be welfare moms" They don't know us. Do you?
If you did, this is what you would learn...We are individuals, and our lives are not over. Many of us stay in our high schools, vocational schools, and colleges, and we intend to finish. We are confident that we can reach our goals.
We look upon parenting as a challenge, not an obstacle; we are committed to our children and don't take the job of parenting for granted. We seek information and help when we need it. Of course, we like to show our babies off (What parent doesn't?). We are rightfully proud of them, not ashamed, and we know they are not dolls. We love the individuals they are, and we are excited and pleased to see them grow and develop.
We are excellent role models for our children because we are working hard to attain our goals. And our children are not doomed or deprived because we are young. They are happy and smart, loved and cared for very much. You'd see that if you really took the time to observe before you judged us because of our age.
So--please don't talk about us as we pass. If you are so concerned, talk with us and listen.
If you are a parent, you'll find we share many of the same concerns, joys, and challenges. Be role models for us--save your negative comments and your unasked-for advice. Give us information and good access to birth control. But remember that a high percentage of all pregnancies are unplanned, and some of these will be teen pregnancies. All the posters in the world will not make us go away.
You can help us do our best by continuing to provide us with emotional and educational support--peer support groups and programs that help us stay in school make a difference in our lives. Support quality subsidized child care programs so that we can work and/or go to school. Support parent education and family recreation programs that are affordable, with child care onsite. Support temporary shelters for women with children (as we struggle to become independent we sometimes need a safe place to stay for awhile).
And most of all, acknowledge and appreciate us for our commitment to the challenging job of parenting.
We know who we are. We are building good lives for ourselves and our children. We can struggle and do it alone, or you can lend us your confidence and assistance. You can continue to view us as statistics or as part of an epidemic social problem, or you can look beyond the stereotypes and know us for who we are...
We are young mothers, each of us with our own story and our own dreams.

elisem said...I am absolutely horrified by this Maxim article. Normally I am a laid back person, and don't see the harm in most things, but this is utterly despicable. I am 6 months pregnant, and feel like I look like the "norm" for a pregnant woman. When you gain pregnancy weight, you gain it everywhere (I learned this the first time!) and you may look like a "cute pregnant woman," but trying to apply the word "sexy" to someone carrying a child is not just scary, it sends the wrong message out to men that it is now okay to turn pregnant women into sexual objects. Gimme a break. pregnancy is supposed to be a "protected time" as a woman; now I get to look forward to being held up to some other completely unrealistic standard, perpetuated by women with personal chefs, trainers, stylists, etc. Bleah on Maxim; they should be ashamed.
