Dilley sextuplets in high school
Filed under: Teens, Activities: Babies, In The News, Day Care & Education
When my oldest started high school this fall, it was sad and exciting at the same time. My baby! High school!
But I didn't have too much time to be melancholy or fret about the passage of time because I have other kids and opted to save the BIG bucket bawling for when the last of the litter heads off.
Keith and Becki Dilley don't have that luxury, though. Part what made them a household name in the United States, raising sextuplets, means their child hit major milestones like starting high school or college, at the same time. This fall, Adrian, Claire, Quinn, Ian, Brenna, and Julian became high school freshman, leaving their house strangely silent a lot of the time.
"Keith and I find ourselves alone a lot," Becki said. "We come home, it's like, 'Where is everybody?' And I say, 'Well, they're not expected home till 11:30 or so. 'You mean we're like..... by ourselves?'"
I'd really be interested in a book about what life with 6 teenagers the same age is like. I can't imagine the hormone and teenage angst, drama, and stress those parents must deal with on a daily basis, and I think I could learn a lot from the Dilleys.

Hope you had a happy childhood, and if you did, thank your parents, for loving kids.

What an exciting moment to follow your family in the paper and keep up on their progress. I'm in Florida now and ws so excited to see this article on the internet. God Bless.

These parents are really in for some serious fun the next few years but maybe the silence when the kids are at school will prepare them for the silence when the nest empties. Of course, if they make it through this how will their grandchildren come along. All at once or little one by little one?

From what I heard on a TV interview, the "Six Pack" finish school at 11:30am. I think they attend from 7am to 11:30am, part of a "split session" school system
_____
In the recent interview, Mrs. Dilley was referring to the weekends when she mentioned the children are sometimes out until 11:30.

I should write a song about them!

I have lost count of the great grandkids, since they are constantly coming, me pg included. christmas is insane at that house, we all pile into one house, well since Katrina, and the house blew away we started having it outside during the day. the first two years afterwards was on the empty lot till a house was rebuilt. and we realised how a chirstmas lunch party was much more easier. lol
