Miley Cyrus' popular Hannah Montana character may be annoying as all get-out, but the actress herself seems like a pretty nice girl. Unlike a lot of youngsters in the spotlight, Cyrus seems to understand the fact that she is a role model for girls and tries to behave accordingly. The 15-year-old says she tries to dress in age-appropriate clothing that her young fans and their parents will approve of.
She tells Oprah Winfrey that while she does have a stylist who helps her choose clothes, in the end it is up to her. "I say what I'm comfortable in and what I like and nothing that's too out there. I like to look kind of like what girls would want to look up to, and their moms and dads will say, 'Hey, that's cool. That's different.' "
Her strategy is working. Ellie is into clothes and pays attention to what others are wearing. She went through a short phase where she was trying to wear shirts that were too short and showed her belly (thank you, Bratz). But since she fell in love with Hannah Montana, she has decided that jeans and layered shirts with funky jackets are the way to go. Keep it up, Miley!
