Suri Cruise is a 'strong woman'
Filed under: Celeb Kids, Celeb Parents
I know it seems that our children grow up way too fast, but Katie Holmes might be getting a little ahead of herself. While attending a Glamour magazine event last week, Holmes was quoted as saying that little Suri Cruise is a "strong woman." Out on the town without Tom, Holmes uttered a few more memorable quotes regarding her daughter. "She's actually teaching me a lot – probably more than I'm teaching her," she said. She goes on to say that Suri is "very smart and strong" and "really magical."Except for the smart and strong part, Holmes cannot have meant any of that literally. She is clearly in awe of her beautiful little girl and like most parents, wants to sing her praises to anyone who will listen. Unfortunately, when your little girl is Suri Cruise and her dad is Tom, everyone really is listening and then repeating what you said with a snicker.

SKL said...Good Heavens, I feel exactly the same way about my daughters. Why are you picking on Suri again? Poor baby is being attacked before she can even raise an arm in defense. I hope she really is a strong woman, if she has to deal with this kind of undeserved negativity all her life.

There is nothing wrong with being in love and proud of with your kids, but a STRONG WOMAN is not Suri - maybe some day, but not now. I have 3 adult chidren (2 "bonus" sons) and 1 daughter. They are all strong and their Dad and I love them - even when they mess up.
I am also a preschool teacher. I love them even when they
act up. I do get frustrated, but I still love them regardless.

KED said...Blue eyes are recessive. Even if her parents both have brown eyes, they can have recessive traits that cross to make recessive eye color in a child. If you're thinking Suri isn't Tom's - I hope that's true! He's a freak.

Lisa said...suri is not a "woman" she is a kid. I feel so sorry for Suri. If her parents are all ready seeing her as a "woman" then this spells trouble to me. Suri is a kid that needs teaching and taught right from wrong. She should not be EVER seen as a woman at this stage of her life by her parents. OK< be amazed by her and YES, kids to teach us, BUT SURI is NOT a "woman."

Kim said...Jerry,
Nice, truly. I am sure you must come from a family where you were unloved to hate children so much. Nuff said!
I agree with the majority. I have three children and I am so in love with them. They do grow so fast and they do teach me just as much as I teach them. I may teach them things about the world and things about academics and so forth, but they teach me the greatest gift of all, how to love unconditionally. I think Katie's comments were taken out of context just because of who she is married to. Give her a break already. It is so nice to see a "Hollywood Mom" be so into her child instead of pawning her off on a Nanny!
