Active baby? UBI modern changing table to the rescue!

Do you have a little one that rolls or can't lie still? Me too. My Lucy tried rolling off the change table on day 2 of being home. Though I have honed both my reactionary times and the ability to put a diaper on in under 20 seconds, I still find myself nervous every time I place her on the table.

A trip to my local hip baby store (incidentally called Baby on the Hip) revealed this super cute solution. The UBI modern changing table was designed by the mom of an active baby. She also happened to be a mechanical engineer. Tired of keeping one hand on her baby while she rummaged for diapers, she came up with a design that stored diapers in the table. The table even has tabs to keep the diaper in place!

My only issue with the design is that it's meant to be used on the floor. While this would work well as a second table perhaps -- keep it downstairs for quick changes during Oprah -- it may not be so practical in a bedroom. The design and safety factors are really appealing, but at $119 USD, you'd really better love it.

OK ye in the trenches -- any of you ever try this bad boy? Is it worth the bucks? Because it totally goes with my son's (soon to be shared with my daughter) room decor.
