Another girl scout gets robbed of cookie money

I live in the area and have a child who works near the area of the crime. I also have a child who attends the same high school and, sadly, we live in the same gated community these girls live. They are relatively privileged white girls with too much time on their hands.
Needless to say, the community is outraged and saddened. They are not an example of the typical student but it is a sad commentary on how some turn out despite their parent's best efforts. I can assure you that they are not admired by their peers. Now let's see what the system does.

Fathers of America . If your daughter is a Girl Scout and she is selling cookies , walk with her with a Louisville Slugger in hand . Then if some thug want the cookie money , aim for the knees and swing for the fences . I recommend a 34 once wooden style .

I think instead of jail time or community service they should be forced to join the girl scouts and earn a certain number of merit badges, they should also work thier tail ends off selling girl scout cookies..at thier age it should be about rehabilitation and this could be a good lesson to them, also, if I were the judge I would make sure thier parents are on the same page or they would face some stiff penalties themselves.

Those wise ass bullies showing no remorse and are only sorry they did get caught, shouldn't just have to return the money, but spend time in a correctional facility with harden teen violent offenders, not just in a juvenile/youth facility, where it's just fighting off others for territorial positions and possessions. If I were the judge, I wouldn't only charge these immature, arrogant criminals with the theft, but I would charge their parents and serve them with a PINS(Person's in Need of Supervision)petition and make them go to family therapy, and making the parents responsible for their neglect of these bullies.
No one deserves to be a victim at the hands of anyone in any criminal offense.
Crime Victims should be able to help this young victim, especially overcome the trauma of being a crime victim.

Being a girl scout leader I hate to see girl's being robbed (fortunately not physically hurt) do to parent's not accompanying their children. A girl scout is not allowed to sit in front of any business without an adult, technically there is always supposed to be two girl scouts and two adults present at all times. So if you are a girl scout parent and your leaders are not doing this, feel free to say something or google "Girl Scouts" and go to the official web-site and read the regulations yourself.

Certainly the girls need punishment, but so do their parents for failing to teach right from wrong, and their parents for failing to teach them, and the teachers and the school districts.... in fact, you alll need a slap up side the head - we are facing more than one generation of loser good-for-nothings as it is

Kathy; Just so you know, not all parents of criminals are awful people...I lost control of my son when he was 14 and started using drugs, I had to beg for help from the courts and he spent the next several years in and out of group homes, jail , counciling, drug rehab, you name it but I would also turn his behind in if he had a warrant and I knew where he was..it was all about accountability...He's 27 now and finally is starting to get his act together but it's been a very long haul so you can't always blame the parents, I talked to my kids about drugs, one didn't use, the other did..unless you've been there please don't judge.

they weren't charged yet because they didn't use force and didn't take it from the girls hands, dose that mean if someone uses your credit card without your knowledge, or if they electronically acess your bank account and steal your money, it's not a crime, the police don't seem to know what constitutes a crime, maybe they should be doing something else for a living !!!!

They should make the thieves wear a sign saying what they did and make them walk up and down the busiest street in town for 8 hours a day so everyone can see what trash they are. They did it in New York to a guy who stole from a pet supply store, embarassed the hell out of him!

My mother choked to death on a Girl Scout thin mint cookie, then her body slumped over, knocked over her ashtray, and proceeded to incinerate her entire apartment complex along with 12 residents. If you'd like fire roasted thin mints, please do not use mom's method.

If you use a gun for a crime you get an additional 8 years in jail , Do we have a law that says if you ( or a minor)use a car for a crime they lose their driver license for a number of years also.
We cannot afford to put every one in jail ,Make them do community service selling girl scout cookies for 8 hrs a day for every $ 1.00
they stole and wearing a large sign all the time saying what the had done. I would buy boxes of cookies just to laugh in their faces. Next time get a job.
