Sally Kern's gay son
Filed under: Just For Moms, Behaving Badly, In The News
A while back, the Ali Forney Center ran an ad campaign in New York aimed at encouraging parents not to stop loving their children just because they might be gay. Well, it seems to me that those posters might have been more in need in Oklahoma where Representative Sally Kern was recently caught ranting about gays, including making the claim that homosexuals are more of a threat to the United States than are terrorists and Islam. The thing is, speculation is running wild about a recent change made to Mrs. Kern's official web page -- the mention of her two adult sons was removed. The theory that seems to fit the facts is that Jesse, one of her two sons, is in fact gay. Further, the rumour is that Mrs. Kern has actually disowned her son because of it.
I regularly tell Jared and Sara that no matter what, I will always love them. I may not always like the things they do, especially when they do naughty things, but I will always love them. I guess, if the rumour is true, Representative Kern doesn't feel the same way.

The most unbelievable are from the religious nuts out there, they preach about forgivness and they are the first ones to jump on the band wagon bible bashing gays. God made us (warts and all), being gay is biological and innate and comes from the mothers XY chromosone. I was sat in a Sociology class recently and the subject of homosexuality came up as part of the course, some of the "christians" in class walked out. I cannot believe that "christians" who are supposed to teach forgivness and love to all are still being brought up with the biggotry ans predudice of their parents. But I have found all my life that predudice breeds predudice. These people are the worse type of hypocrites on the face of this earth and if anyone should suffer eternal hell and damnation, and suffer fire and brimstone it should be those for not practacing what they preach. They make me sick to my stomach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S I was raised strict catholoic and proud to be gay.

debra said...Bcc said it all, and yes....the bible says that homosexuality is a sin and that it is an abomination against God!!!! so it is condemned just like any other sin in the bible...and if you read your bible....since God says it is an abomination..Do you think he would have created this sin Himself and sent it here? I think it is like the bible says..perversion...and that is satan's territory....the bible says you can-not be lukewarm or God will spew you out of His mouth...so on this earth you either live for God or satan...and everytime someone says they were born that way..should read their bible...God does not lie..and it plainly says in the bible that satan in the king of liars....I have relatives in my family who are gay and I don't hate them..I love them and I pray for them...and like the bible says: Love the sinner....but not the sin!!!!

debra said...has anyone ever noticed that people will take "GOD'S WORD" and twist it to fit what ever sin they know they are doing so that in their twisted mind that it is right? And that my friends is the works of satan!!!!! So remember everyone...prayer works!! so pray for those who blasphemes against the"word of God"....and yes God does bless those that beleive in Him and tries their best to live for Him....but satan ALSO does for those that live for him...and as far as those who say...Christians try to sit in judgement of others...I don't think sharing the word and trying to lead others to Christ is judging...Christ did say to His disciples to go in to towns and stay to share His word and those who did not accept them to listen to them... for His disciples to leave and shake the dust from their feet when they left..so you can only try to lead people to Christ and if they refuse to listen or accept the word, then all you can do is leave, but know that you left not because you wanted to but because you were rejected and so was God's greatest gift to mankind..Jesus!!!!

The justifying of hate by hiding behind religion, and the uncritical acceptance of interpretations of Scripture speaks to the educational level and the emotional development of many. Eventually, Christians believe, they will have to give and accounting of themselves. Do these people really believe that damaging others can be justified by faith? What if it is the act and not its reasons that must be justified and you can't hide behind a preacher or a Book?

Stacy said...I am a Christian, and I love Jesus Christ with all my heart and soul. However I don't believe, (I Know) homosexuality is a sin. I do not judge, or tell anyone they are going to hell, only God can judge. I love all people whether they are in sin or not, cause that is what Jesus would do. He came here and died for sinners. Our jobs as Christians are to lead people to him so they can come into the knowledge of God. I'm not some crazy, running around attacking gay people, or thinking they should have no rights. I Know that god loves all his Children, but does not agree with this lifestyle, because it is not his will for people to be gay. People are born gay, you say, God made them that way you say. Well people are born deformed, handicapped, or with mental illness, did God made them that way. People have problems because of sin. Did a little baby sin, no but the world is sin and every thing in it is of sin. That is why he sent his son to die, so we can live, be free, be healed, and have everlasting life. I just pray that people find him before it is too late. God bless you all

Becca said...Yes GOD did indeed make people "deformed, handicapped, or with mental illness".
I wonder at the limits some people put on GOD. And then how much faith those same people put in a book that has been proven to have been edited over and over again to say exactly what the writer or his patron wanted it to say.
Most of these people will also tell you that other things that are prohibited in the Old Testament are Okay now, because ... well you know the New Testament is the "New covenant" and so it supersedes the Old Testament. Or it doesn't make since any more in today's world.
Why don't you all forget what other people do in the bedrooms? Let GOD decide who is sinning and who isn't. Live a life that makes you feel like you are going to make it to heaven, and leave others to live theirs as they see fit. I'm willing to say that 99% of people in The United States already know of the Bible and Jesus. We don't really need you to tell us again. Christians needed to spread the word when almost NO ONE knew about it. We know now so that part of the Bible is out dated.
I'm sure GOD still loves you.
Oh and to the person who asked if I'd still LOVE my child even after he had killed his brother? Yes I would. I would be hurt and would mourn for the lost child, I would hate the deed. But my child is still my child. I could never stop loving them.

A: Psalms 117
Q: What is the longest chapter in the Bible ?
A: Psalms 119
Q: Which chapter is in the center of the Bible ?
A: Psalms 118
Fact: There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118
Fact: There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118
Add these numbers up and you get 1188.
Q: ? What is the center verse in the Bible ?
A: Psalms 118.8
Q: ? Dose this verse say something significant about God`s perfect will for are lives ?
The next time someone says they would like to find God`s perfect will for their lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His word !
Psalm 118.8 " It is better to trust in the LORD then to put confidence in man."
Now isn`t that odd How this worked out ( or was God in the center of it ) ?
