Product Recall: MagnaMan Magnetic Toy Figures

It's Monday, so it must be product recall time. Today, we have The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announcing the recall of about 1.3 million MagnaMan Magnetic Toy Figures. The small magnets inside the figures can detach and be swallowed or aspirated by young children. If more than one magnet is swallowed, they can attract each other internally and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal. No injuries have been reported, but MEGA Brands and CPSC have received 25 reports of magnets coming loose from the figures.
These toys were made in China, distributed by MEGA Brands America Inc., of Livingston, N.J., and sold at Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, K-Mart and other toy stores nationwide from January 2005 through December 2007 for about $10 each.
The MagnaMan toys are figures that have body parts attached by magnets. They come in two different themes: "Futuristic Warrior" and "Ancient Warrior". Each figure comes with three accessories. The model number is printed on the front of the product's packaging. Visit the CPSC Website for a detailed list of the colors and model numbers, as well as photos, of the figures involved in this recall.
If you find that you do have one of the recalled toys, you should stop using it immediately and return it to MEGA Brands for a free replacement toy.For more information, contact MEGA Brands by call (800) 779-7122 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or by visiting their Web site.

A Mom said...Sandra - All of your products are included in the March 17th recall. You can go to the Mega Brands website or call them at (800) 779-7122. They will instruct you how to return your products and receive replacement toys based on the value of the toys you send back. You do not need to have all the pieces, just send back as much as you can find.
