A friend was just telling me the other day that someone was all excited about their new baby and the wonderful, unique name they had come up with for him, Ethan. She said she didn't have the heart to tell the sleep-deprived mom that she now knew 11 Ethan's, nearly all under the age of 3.

Becky Scott said...I know very few Becky/Rebecca's anymore. In fact, I think I'm the only Becky in several circles. It'll probably change again sometime soon. You just can't predict it.

kate said...My daughter is in a 2-year-old class of 6. There are 3 Bella's. 3 out of 6. Oh, and one Isabel. Then there's the boys. Between the 2 two-year-old classrooms, there is a Brady, a Brayden, a Braeden, a Jaden, a Grady . . . need I go on?
I was a Katherine in a year where it was ranked right at the top and had at least 2 other Katie's in my classes all through school. Forget "Dude, we're gonna use your last name" - I had my last name used all the time. We're totally pleased that our daughter's name (Zoe - no "y", thank you) is not completely wack but not super-common.
