ParentDish needs your ParentPicks!

Here at ParentDish, we are more than willing to tell you about new and exciting products for children and parents alike. Whether we stumble across an item on the web, hear about it from neighbors or have personal experience, chances are we will share the love with you all. That's what parents do, right?
Well, from the wealth of knowledge we gain from your daily comments, we have a sneaking suspicion that you have some fantastic baby picks up your sleeve. You know, the ones that made a huge difference in your daily parenting routine. That's why we are launching ParentPicks, a way for all of us to benefit from each other's parental wisdom. (Lord knows, I could use some.)
This month's ParentPicks feature will be focused on the teeny-tiny newborn stage. For me personally, I couldn't have made it through the first few months without The Miracle Blanket. That blanket kept my little houdini's arms safely at his sides and prevented him from whacking himself in the face and howling in the middle of the night. The first night I put it on, he slept an extra 2-3 hours. Talk about a sanity saver!
What about you, though? What newborn product or item could you not live without? Your insightful responses will be compiled and presented in June for everyone to enjoy. Now, get to it! Weary, sleep-deprived parents all over the world will thank you!

Giant exercise to bounce the baby to sleep, and the tic tacs as the world's most effective rattle. And I had fresh breath, too.

Giant exercise ball to bounce the baby to sleep, and the tic tacs as the world's best rattle (not bad for fresh breath either).

Fisher-Price Cradle Swing

I had one of the older (now discontinued) models and later I got one of the ones that have the plug option. My kids practically lived in the cradle swing in the early months.
Pouch Sling

I had a Slinglings brand pouch sling. It's the same kind of sling as the more popular Hotsling, just not as expensive. I didn't really get into the swing of baby wearing until my third kid, but once I really tried it I loved it! It just opens up so many more options for mom.
Belly Huggers
http://www.thebellyhugger.com/
This is not exactly baby gear, per se, but it definitely made those early months easier. The Belly Hugger turns any shirt into a nursing shirt. It's basically a tube top you wear around your belly under your shirt which allows you to easily keep your belly/back covered when you pull your shirt up to breastfeed the baby (without having to use any kind of blanket coverup). I don't know about you, but I was more worried about flashing my postpartum belly than I ever was about flashing a boob while nursing. This was just one of those things that really gave me peace of mind and helped me to relax and focus on feeding the baby, rather than worrying about what I looked like while feeding the baby.

Great for keeping refluxy babes close and happy, all the while moms hands are free to do dishes or type or whatever. SUPER comfy, easy to use, I wore mine all day every day even when my son wasn’t in it, I recommend them to everyone- they saved my sanity!!

My baby slept in his Baby Papasan Bouncy Chair for a few months. I would've never gotten any sleep without that thing!
After he graduated from swaddles, we loved the wearable blankets.

This is the cutest hat ever and it is made specially to fit newborns!
I give this as a gift to all my pregnant friends.
I had a hard time finding hats that fit so I used the pink and blue striped hospital hat for weeks until he finally grew into the hats I got for shower gifts. I found out later that most of my friends had the same problem. That's why this hat is so great, it fits and is super cute for photos.
