Six-year-old saves friend from drowning
Filed under: Activities: Babies, Health & Safety: Babies
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, even pint-sized. When Josiah Buddah took off his water wings and sank to the bottom of the pool, the adults in the area didn't notice. But buddy Haden Stusak did. Though he's only six years old, Haden took it upon himself to dive deep and pull the unconcious Josiah to safety. The he cried, "Help, help, he drowned."Josiah is doing well, thanks to Haden's quick thinking, and now swims with a float suit. Haden may be a hero, but he's humble as well. "We're friends," he said, "That's what friends do." I think Josiah is pretty lucky to have a friend like Haden!
This story is a good reminder that though swimming is a great way for the whole family to cool off in the hot summer weather, without supervision pools (or any other body of water) can also be dangerous. Visit the American Red Cross for tips on keeping your little swimmers safe this summer.

And I'm sure that we will all forgive you for being petty and rude over what could have been a typo. ;)

As to AOL -- could you be any more brazen in lying? You guys know what a toddler is, right? And you wonder why everything thinks your news is on par with The Star....? You do it to yourselves.

There was a slide at the side of the pool, and my sister climbed up the little staircase and slid into the pool. The adults were all talking, so none of them noticed my sister until I said "Look she's swimming." If I hadn't said anything, she probably would have drowned because no one would have noticed.

Chris said...Thank God for Haden who proved he is much more mature and attentive then the parents of Josiah. The parents should be ashamed of themselves and take full blame for not watching their child and thinking a pair of water wings is a life preserver and "babysitter".
You have to watch your child at all times and remember they are precious gifts we are blessed with and don't take things for granted.

One by one they slipped down the deep end, due to algae on the pool walls and floor. They figure, each one, tried to save the one that went under, and it was weeks before they found them. I visualize, how quiet it was after the last one went under, and not a sould knew. May they rest in peace, and may it never happen again. This kid was a hero by any standard. What a smart and unselfish boy. God protect him all his life. You go boy.
