Actors Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are getting their summer off to an exciting start with the C-section birth of a baby daughter yesterday.
Stella Doreen McDermott was born in a Los Angeles hospital and weighed 6 lbs., 8 oz. If you are interested, I'm sure nearly every detail was filmed and will be shown in an upcoming episode of her parent's reality show, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.
Stella joins big brother Liam (age 1) and Jack (9, and McDermott's son from his earlier marriage to Mary Jo Eustace. Part of the messy McDermott/Eustace break-up of that marriage seems to be that Lola, the daughter McDermott adopted with Eustace prior to hooking up with Spelling in 2005, is no longer his legal responsibility and not included as one of his children.)
Speaking of awkward relationships, Tori and her mother Candy Spelling have been famous for theirs, with Tori blaming her mother for being cut out of her wealthy father Aaron's will and using her family history for material for television shows and fodder for a book. The mother and daughter pair reconciled after the birth of little Liam. Tori is hopeful she can learn from the mistakes of the past and forge a healthy and loving relationship with her new daughter.
She told PEOPLE magazine,"Because my mother and I have always had a complicated relationship, I always wanted a girl to prove that the past doesn't have to repeat itself. I can't wait to be a great mom and friend to her!"
Good luck with that, Tori. You chose a great name to yell out in frustration if it doesn't always go smoothly!

Kelly said...My almost two year old is named Stella June. I am happy she is such a trendsetter! But a bit sad because now I'm sure the name will become much more popular than it is now.
