Snake in a crib
Filed under: Babies, Playground Bureau, Weird But True
If you're on fence about co-sleeping and are scared of snakes, this story might help you come to a decision. (Or keep you from ever having a good night's sleep again.)
When a woman visiting relatives in Long Island, went into tend to her crying baby in the middle of the night, she found a snake wrapped around the leg of the seven-month-old. "Once I lifted her up and the snake fell off of her, she stopped crying," the shaken mother said. "But then I was the one crying all night."
Officials have no idea how the foot long snake, identified as a California King, a non-venomous constrictor and popular choice for a pet, made its way into the crib. The family had recently purchased the crib mattress and feel the snake might have been in the packaging, which was not secure. Animal experts feel the snake might have made its way into the home to escape the unseasonably warm weather.
As someone who suffers from a bit of a snake-phobia, I would completely understand why this poor mother would sleep standing up with her baby strapped to her in a front carrier for the rest of her childhood. The only thing I can imagine worse than snakes on a plane would be snakes in the crib with your baby.

Scandal!!! Paris Hilton's new sex tape:
Reply I pulled out some of the letters to this sorry ass link which some sorry son of a bitch from hell put on here. Beware of these things. Yes, not long ago i clicked on one and I lost my entire computer, hard drive everything. What these demon bastards from hell do is to first infect you, then they want to sell youl something to fix it and it's never fixed. I would be willing to spend time in prison to get hold of one of these people, let me tell you, they would never ever put one of these online again and live to tell about it.

Well, when his daughter was young, he went in the room because she was crying, and an anaconda was above the crib ready to attack. It was terrifying, but all ended well for my family. They lived there years, so were used to incidents like this, but still, i dont know if you can ever get used to a close call with death especially for your children. I am glad the child is ok.

It actuallly has a stinger on what looks like it's nose and I hurt for days and believe you me, I can take my share of pain. But anyway, good this snake in the baby's crib wasn't a coral or something venemous.

Alice said...I heard a crunching sound in the dead of night years ago. I awoke and went in the dark to the bathroom to look out the window. I couldn't see the large animal I assumed it was, but the sound got louder. So, I ran back to bed. The sound continued, so I turned on a light and at the foot of my bed, but not on it, was a 3 or 4 foot California King Snake. It had gotten its tail caught in a small round container that had ant poison in it and he was dragging it along....making the crunching sound as he moved.
King Snakes frequent that property and one has been trying to get in our garage for the past three months. Sometime it is inside the garage when we get home. The snakes are harmless, but they always get my attention, and I certainly don't want them in my house or garage.
