Mom gives birth to 6, runs marathon

There are people who run marathons (26.2 miles without even the incentive of a rabid wolf behind you!) who are pretty crazy/amazing. And then there are parents of multiples who are pretty crazy/amazing themselves. One baby was enough to bring me to my knees begging for sleep, how the world do mothers of more than one keep their sanity?!
And sometimes, those two groups collide. Jenny Masche is the mother of SIX babies: Savannah, Cole, Grant, Molli, Bailey, and Blake. After surviving months of bed-rest and cardiac arrest after the birth of the babies, Masche vowed to run a marathon by the time the babies turned one.
On May 31, less than two weeks before the sextuplets' first birthday, Jenny entered the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Diego and finished the race with her husband at her side.
"There was no way I was getting out of that," Bryan Masche told Meredith Vieira on the TODAY show. "I couldn't let Jenny run the race after heart failure and sextuplets and a year later be on the sidelines cheering her on."
And the question every mother of even ONE squalling little baby wants to know: When in the world did she find the time to train for a marathon?
"They're good sleepers," the humble mom told Vieira. "As soon as I put them down at 7 o'clock at night, I'd literally throw my running shoes on and my friend and I would go and run for like two hours."
I think there's a lot more to it than having good sleepers! I had my good sleeping babies one at a time and still found it a challenge to find the time to take a shower some days!

I regret to inform you that neither of the Gosslins are anything that you chose to call them. Shame on anyone who can sit in judgement of parents that are out there for the public to become aware of........the handling of all those beautiful children......apparently the public finds them interesting enough......no, more than interesting.........charming.
Try not to throw stones for no reason at all.

I love Jon and Kate... If you hate them then just don't watch it?! There is plenty of crap on tv these days so you have a lot to choose from. I don't think the show is so much about them making money. It's an informative show on how the deal with raising their multiples.. no one said it was an outstanding accomplishment or anything for them to have so many children. I enjoy seeing the kids grow as well. I think that if the demand for the show wasnt so large they would probably stop filming. Dont you? It is their choice whether to "exploit" their family as some of you say. I don't think the point of this particular article as anything to do with Jon and Kate anyways..

I think Jon and Kate are great ,my friends and I watch it all the time..they are great people,I only have 1 child and its hard so I think they are great for having 8 kids and doing so well, I know its hard for anyone that has mom then one child out of a time..I look up to those people!

DOES KATE EVER DO ANYTHING BUT RUN HER MOUTH, HAVE THE RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS TO DO HER WORK AND TREAT JON LIKE A STUPID DOLT WHICH HE IS FOR PUTTING UP WITH HER. IF YOU FIND THAT ENTERTAINING, FINE! YOU WATCH IT. THEY ARE REVOLTING. SHE IS SUPPOSEDLY A NURSE AND SHE HAS A FIT WHEN HER KIDS GETS ICE CREAM ON THEIR CLOTHES. JUST WHAT YOU LOOK FOR IN NURSING- A WILD-EYED FRUITCAKE! JUST WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE ALL TEENAGERS AND HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN. THAT'S WHEN IT SHOULD BE A HOOT TO WATCH.

I have a 11 year old and 4 year old triplets and also had heart failure after the birth of our triplets. We had a ton of help for the first year and then it faded away. I have watched J&K+8 also, I often wonder I know it doesn't show may people helping but what about the 2-3 camera people, lighting people and the producer person. I can only imagine on one hand having that many people in the way all the time must be hard but on the other hand I'm sure they help also. I guess I wish I had that kind of money to have the help around.~~ Kudos to the woman who ran the race though!!! I only wish I could get my exercise that is needed for my heart in!!!

I agree. They are great. She gets more done in one day with 8 children than I do in a whole week and I only have one! LOL!!

I agree! John and Kate annoy me. I, for one, do not want to listen to one single woman bitch about her multiples. They knew the risk involved when they opted to take the fertility drugs, so put up and shut up! They should consider themselves lucky that the drugs worked for them. I have a friend who has tried evreything and still no luck. It breaks my heart.
Congratulations to Jenny on a job well done and thank you for not subjecting us to a reality show about your life!

Have you given up the right to complain about anything you have chosen or wished for in your life? If you work, you probably chose your job, does that mean give up the right to complain about it? I desperately wanted children and was blessed with beautiful twins through fertility treatments. It's hard as hell raising them. Have a given up my right to ever say how hard it is simply because I knew there was a chance I would have twins? I don't think any first time parent has any idea what they are getting themselves in to. My heart aches for your friend, I've been there, but don't be so quick to shut others up. As women and mothers, we should all be more open and supportive with each other!

Have you know common sense to realize they don't complain? They love their unique and beautiful family because its THEIRS. They know what they got into and in no way do they ever complain, sure it can be difficult but they get through it together, as a family. How many kids do you have again?
You are in no place to judge.
