Free lipo with C-section???

Ok, I'm going to ask you a question, and I want you to be totally honest. Recently, a friend of mine revealed that when she went into the hospital to have her first child, wherein she had a Cesarean, she was offered and took advantage of free liposuction while she was in there.

My pal said she figured they were in there already, so why not go for it? Within a month of having her baby, if that, she was back in her regular jeans. Meanwhile, here I am, going about it the regular old way of the vajayjay, and I got nothing but running fourteen miles a day trying to get my butt back to its original, non-Texas size.

My friend said, however, that when she had her second child (also C-section, not VBAC), she was not offered such a thing. When she asked the doctors and nurses looked at her like she was insane. Her first child was born in New York City, her second, upstate. Perhaps it was a city trend. Perhaps it was because she had a rather large baby in there. Perhaps it was because she had a scheduled C-section. Perhaps it was NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So. Were you offered a free bit of lipo when you went under the knife? 'Cuz if so, it might explain why all those Hollywood moms look pencil thin ten minutes after giving birth. And, it may be reason enough to sign up for an elective C-section!

I had to have a c-section but wasn't offered any lipo. Matter of fact, they really didn't offer anything. I tried to go natural only to find out that I needed to go for a c-section and no one was really sensitive to the situation. I was passed along like some slab of meat. I delivered in Orlando, FL.

Now, looking back in retrospect, I would probably have declined if they did offer but wished that I did. It's been two years since and I still haven't gotten down to my pre-preggers weight. I managed to lose 25 lbs with Weight Watchers and still counting but I envy those who bounce right back. I must have been skipped the bounce back after pregnancy gene.

I had my daughter in NYC and have never heard of such a thing. How crazy. C-sections are major surgery requiring major recovery time; I can't imagine any medical professional offering something that should extend your recovery time significantly.

It is not a good idea if you plan to breast feed your baby. Those extra pounds of fat is there to help mom produce milk. You burn 750 calories a day breast feeding your baby. I am not advocating that therefore every mom should breast feed, but if you want to lose those extra pounds, then I would give breast feeding a try over lipo suction. There are a lot of benefits to mom and baby when you breast feed. I lost one pound or more a day breast feeding my baby.

Do you really burn 750 calories a day from breastfeeding? I pump about 6 times a day (my baby can't breastfeed from the boob cause of a cleft lip and palate), and I produce about 35-40 ounces a day. I heard that the amount of calories you burn a day is in line with how much milk you produce. I had no idea you burn so much!

I had 2 c-sections and my second one was scheduled. I had heard of women getting tummy tucks when they had scheduled c-sections and, as embarrassed as I was, I asked my ob/gyn about this possibility. She told me that doctors used to do tummy tucks for women who requested them when they were doing c-sections, however, they found way too many times the final product didn't turn out very well because a woman's body is so out of proportion when she's pregnant. Doing that kind of surgery immediately following the delivery of a baby is not an ideal situation. Frequently women had to come in for another surgery to "fix" things. So, unfortunately, they wouldn't do the tummy tuck. I could still do it at a different time, but of course it's expensive, so it will likely never happen.

I can't believe this. I remember ten/fifteen years ago no one would even consider going under the knife if there was nothing wrong with you. It was not done, now people talk about it as if it is the most normal thing in the world.

I had my daughter last November via c-section. She was 2 weeks early, I developed preclampysia in my 38th week and had to get an emergency c-section last minute. I was not offered a lipo after her birth. I didn't know that was even possible!!!!

I'd certainly take my doctor up on that offer! As a matter of fact...insurance companies should be forced to throw in a complimentary tummy tuck and boob lift! lol
