George Carlin dies of heart failure
Categories: In The News
I think there is a reason why opposites attract. It's so that, if and when you decide to raise kids, there's a healthy balance in parenting. At least that's the way it turned out in our family. For example, when I play outside with the kids, I teach and guide. When my husband plays outside with the kids, he appears to be training them for some sort of high-flying circus act. I just look the other way and make sure we're all stocked up on band-aids. It's hard for me to admit, but they seem to have more fun when they play with him.
He likes to tease me that everything he knows about parenting he's learned from George Carlin. That's why I know he'll be sad to hear the news that George Carlin has passed away from heart failure. He was 71. He was rough and raunchy, but he was also hilariously funny, and I know one dad who found at least a little truth in what he had to say.
Godspeed, George. You'll be missed.

I loved the guy's sense of humor and I think he'd get a big kick out of all the folk wishing him "godspeed" or saying God Bless. :)
You'll be missed Mr. Conductor.

Now who's gonna be brave enough to tell the truth?
As a mother, I didn't always approve of the language, but George had a way of stating the obvious and making people laugh at their own absurdities. He always left you something to think about.
He will be missed.
